Jessa is about 28 weeks (or 6 months) pregnant, which means she just entered her third trimester. Her little one is the size of an eggplant and measures in at about 14 inches from head to toe and weighs in around 2 pounds, according to The Bump.
Jessa announced her pregnancy in January in an interview with People.
“We are overjoyed that God has blessed us with a baby, due late this Spring!” Jessa said in a statement. “From the day we found out we were expecting, we both guessed boy, and if our predictions are right then we already have a ton the clothing and accessories ready to pass down! At the same time, we would absolutely love it if we found out we were having a girl — though we’ve joked that we’d be starting from square one and might have to learn a few things.”
But she didn’t share any baby bump photos until February — and fans later learned that Jessa refrained from sharing pregnancy updates on social media out of respect for her sister-in-law, . Jessa and Lauren, 19, both found out they were pregnant back in September but unfortunately, Lauren suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage in October.
In the caption of her first baby bump photo, Jessa acknowledged Lauren’s loss.
“As we look forward to meeting our baby, we’re also feeling an exceptional amount of grief over my brother Josiah and sister-in-law Lauren’s loss of their baby. Lauren and I shared the exact same due date. We have cried so many tears, both together and apart. My heart aches for them. I weep when I think of how difficult it must be for her to see me pregnant in the very stages where she would’ve been— right up through the baby’s due date,” she wrote.
“We do continue to pray that God will bless you with a baby to hold in your arms, but this is not to insinuate that having another will remove the grief over one that’s been lost,” she added. “That life can never be replaced and will forever hold a special place in your heart.”
