Jason Wahler Says Brody Jenner Should Be With a Supportive Woman

Matchmaker? Now that Brody Jenner is back on the market, his Hills costar Jason Wahler revealed what kind of woman he should be with. “I think for him, look, he’s a great guy, he’s got a great heart, he’s got a lot of offer. I think he needs somebody who can really support him in the areas that he needs support in,” the 32-year-old told In Touch exclusively. “I think he needs to find somebody who is grounded and can give him a solid foundation and stability.”

Brody, 36, and his wife, Kaitlynn Carter, called it quits in August after five years together. “They love and respect one another and know that this is the best decision for their relationship moving forward,” Brody’s rep Scott Newman told In Touch at the time. Since then, Kaitlynn, 31, moved on with Miley Cyrus, but the two split in September. Meanwhile, Brody started dating Josie Canseco but broke up in late October after more than two months of dating.

Clearly, the DJ has endured a lot of heartbreak in the past few months. “I’ll put it this way, if I was in Brody’s shoes, I would take a little bit of time to myself after getting out of a marriage and going through what he’s gone through,” Jason advised. “He’s got a lot of stuff. I’ll speak as if it was my side, I’d process everything that’s going on and take some time to myself. I wouldn’t get committed to anything relatively quickly just because that’s a lot.”

Jason — who shares daughter Delilah, 2, with his wife, Ashley Wahler — continued to express his opinion on Brody’s love life. “Obviously, when you’re married to somebody, and you’re going through a separation, it’s hard. It’s not easy, so I think it’s important that he takes some time to himself. I think when he gets into a place where he’s grounded and ready, he’ll find somebody he can connect with.”

So, will Kaitlynn be back on the MTV reality series? “I sure hope so,” Jason hinted. “I want to see how Ashley and [Kaitlynn] would deal with things if they all come back. I will tell you this, the cast that is returning to my knowledge has a lot going on, there’s a lot of things happening and so it will make for a very good season. That’s what it will really come down to.”

These days, Jason — who teamed up with Hilary Roberts and the Red Songbird Foundation to give away a $100,000 scholarship at The Beach House Treatment Center in support of trauma, mental health and substance abuse — has been focusing on his sobriety. “God kept me here for a reason, and I feel like this is the service I’m supposed to be doing here,” he shared. “I had to go through hell to experience the benefits of this. I think my story, the fact that we have and we’re able to visualize and to actually see what I went through to have that transformation — it was all worth it.”
