Just days after the killing of Nipsey Hussle, the suspect in the case, Eric Ronald Holder, Jr., has already stepped foot in court. On March 31, the musician was outside of his clothing store in Los Angeles, California, when he was fatally shot in the head and torso. He was 33 years old at the time, and though he was the only fatality of the shooting, he was not the only victim. Multiple shots were fired and two other men were also shot outside the store. Eric Holder's Court Appearance: Nipsey Hussle Suspect's Arraignment

The suspect was seen in court with his lawyer.

Early on April 4, Holder, 29, was officially charged by the LA County DA’s Office on one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. “The criminal complaint also includes allegations that he personally used a firearm and caused great bodily injury and death,” read a press release obtained by In Touch.

He was arraigned later that day.

His attorney, Chris Darden, entered a not guilty plea on his client’s behalf, and his bail was set at $5 million. According to the press release, Holder could face life in prison if found guilty. Darden is the same attorney who became a household name while working for the prosecution in the case against O.J. Simpson.

Hussle’s family and friends have mourned his death.

In addition to his two children, the rapper will be missed by long-time girlfriend Lauren London. The actress broke her silence on April 2. “I am completely lost,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’ve lost my best friend, my sanctuary, my protector, my soul. … I’m lost without you. We are lost without you, babe. I have no words.”

His sister is heartbroken.

Samantha Smith wrote her own message on April 2. “You are my heart. You are my strength, my wisdom, my joy, my balance,” she shared on Instagram. “Let me hold you again. You are my baby. To the world you are the strongest man and to me, you are the most vulnerable innocent child. … Your heart is pure. They don’t know you like we know. Your love is expansive. Talk to me again. You’ve taught me so much. You hold me down through everything.”

Other celebrities are speaking out, too.

“This doesn’t make any sense! My spirit is shaken by this!” Rihanna wrote on Twitter. “Dear God, may his spirit rest in peace and may you grant divine comfort to all his loved ones. I’m so sorry this happened to you, @nipseyhussle.” She was joined by Jorydn Woods who also spoke out. “I pray for Lauren and his loved ones,” she said.

Hundreds gathered for a vigil.

The day of the shooting, fans paid their respects at Hussle’s store. They brought candles, flowers, and other offerings in tribute, playing music.

Fans are fighting for the ultimate honor.

On April 2, the rapper’s supporters started a Change.org petition to name the Los Angeles intersection where Hussle was killed after him. “This is a call for LA Councilman Harris-Dawson to name the intersection of Crenshaw and Slauson ‘Nipsey Hussle Way,'” the petition reads. “In honor of a community icon.”

Holder was caught two days after the shooting.

Holder was reportedly located in Bellflower, California and detained by the LAPD. The police chief told reporters that Holder approached Hussle several times the day of the shooting before things turned violent.
