Nipsey Hussle Shared a Beautiful Blended Family With Longtime Girlfriend Lauren London
All eyes are on rapper Nipsey Hussle’s family on March 31, after he was gunned down outside of his Los Angeles store. The 33-year-old, whose real name is Ermias Asghedom, passed away shortly after being shot multiple times, and the entire music community is devastated by the loss. Though his girlfriend of five years, actress Lauren London, has yet to speak out publicly on her tragic loss, it’s safe to assume no one is more crushed, especially since they share a 2-year-old son together. Nipsey Hussle’s Girlfriend Lauren London
Nipsey has been with his girlfriend Lauren for five years. In a recent Q&A he and Lauren did with GQ, he revealed that they actually met for the first time when she visited his store on Slauson Ave in Los Angeles — the same store he was killed near on March 31. The couple was obviously head-over-heels in love. He got nearly every question about Lauren correct, and she even teased that he was her “celebrity crush.”
Lauren started dating Nipsey in 2013, and they quickly became one of hip-hop’s favorite couples for their affection and devotion to one another. Though they were plagued by rumors of infidelity throughout the relationship, in 2018 Lauren defended her man on Instagram, revealing that they were “so good” and asking, “why all the hate? All these random, fake-ass rumors?” Despite the unnecessary drama, they went on to become parents together and couldn’t have been more smitten.
After Nipsey’s heartbreaking death, many stars took to Instagram to send their love to Lauren. Real Housewives star NeNe Leakes wrote, “Love you sis! Please Please be as strong as you can,” while LeToya Luckett added, “Praying for your strength my love. May God draw near to you 🙏🏾❤️.”
Nipsey Hussle’s Son Kross Asghedom
Nipsey’s first child with Lauren was born on August 31, 2016. Kross is now two years old, and Nipsey was a devoted father to him. During their Q&A, Nipsey and Lauren cutely bickered over who was a better parent to Kross, and Lauren revealed the baby’s first word was “Dada.” While the couple has posted rare glimpses at their son, they mostly keep the little cutie out of the spotlight. Lauren also has a 9-year-old son from a previous relationship with Lil Wayne named Cameron.
Nipsey Hussle’s Daughter Emani Asghedom
Nipsey has a daughter from a previous relationship as well named Emani, and while not too much is known about her, he did take the beautiful young lady as his date to the Grammy Awards in 2019, where he was nominated for Best Rap Album of the year for his album Victory Lap. He shared a photo with his daughter on the red carpet with a simple blue heart as the caption.
Nipsey Hussle’s Father Dawit Ashedom
Nipsey’s father Dawit was an immigrant to America from Eritrea, and Nipsey was proud of his African heritage. As recently as February, he posted a photo with his dad and brother, with Eritrea’s country abbreviation, ER, as the caption. Dawit was very proud of his son. According to his Instagram page, Nipsey accepted a gift at the Eritrean Festival in Washington DC in 2018, and earlier the same year, Nipsey visited his 90-year-old grandmother in the country.
Nipsey Hussle’s Brother Samiel Asghedom
Nipsey’s only sibling was a brother named Samiel. He and Samy were business partners for the Marathon Clothing Store, but the 37-year-old also had other businesses relating to entertainment, as well as a non-profit. It’s clear that they were close, and our hearts go out to all of Nipsey’s loved ones in this tragic time.
