It’s refreshing to see Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman smiling again! On Dec. 10, Dog took to Instagram to share a picture of himself with a fan, at what looks to be a meet and greet. He posed with the little girl and captioned the photo, “Merry Christmas!!”

About a week ago, Dog posted on his Instagram that he would be making an appearance at his book signing at the Chapel Hills Mall in Colorado Springs, CO. He wrote, “On the 8th and 9th I will be at Chapel Hill Mall in Colorado Springs. Can’t wait to see you all there.”

It’s nice to see that the Dog the Bounty Hunter star is getting out of the house since these past few weeks have not been easy for him or his family. On Nov. 27, his wife, Beth, was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery and later learned that her cancer had returned. The couple returned to Colorado on Dec. 1, so that Beth could feel less stressed at home.

“She’s much more comfortable now she can breathe, but she just wanted to come back to Colorado, she loves it here,” the reality star told In Touch. “They told us they didn’t want her to leave the hospital, but she was adamant, she just wanted to be home.”

It meant a lot to fans that Dog still managed to make an appearance, even though his wife isn’t doing too well. However, his fans have been trying to stay positive for the couple. One commented on Instagram, “Thank you so much for taking the time to do this @duanedogchapman. We are also praying for @mrsdog4real. I am also a cancer survivor,” while another echoed,” Thank you @duanedogchapman for my autographed book and selfie today. I have been a fan for a long time. True Rockstar. Prayers for @mrsdog4real for speedy recovery.”
