This is absolutely devastating. Dog The Bounty Hunter star Beth Chapman has been such a positive ray of light throughout her whole cancer battle, but the crushing blows keep on coming. On Nov. 27, she was rushed into emergency surgery to remove a blockage in her throat, and hours later, she reportedly learned that her cancer has returned.

Beth and her husband Duane were in Los Angeles to go to the doctor because Beth hasn’t been feeling well, which was lucky for them because overnight it became difficult for her to breathe, and she was rushed into surgery for a life-threatening blockage. Just hours after the procedure finished, a report revealed that the doctors allegedly found more cancer in her throat. Though they’re calling it “serious,” it’s too early to know just how bad it is. For now, they’ve evaluating options for treatment.

This news must be crushing to Beth, who was dubbed cancer-free after an invasive threat surgery to remove a tumor last year. As a matter of fact, she got the happy news almost exactly one year ago, and gushed about it to In Touch exclusively. “I had a doctor’s appointment just recently where they went in and checked and did another scope down my throat, and the doctor said that it looks like I’m in good condition now,” she said at the time. “Part of me feels it’s hard to believe that I had it, part of me thinks it’s hard to believe it’s gone.”

She seemed so happy to be celebrating a cancer-free Christmas last year, which makes it even more tragic to be getting this heartbreaking news in the midst of the holiday season one year later. We wish her and her family the very best, and hope she gets back on the road to recovery soon!
