Home sweet home. Less than one week after former Dog The Bounty Hunter star Beth Chapman was hospitalized and had to undergo emergency throat cancer removal surgery, she’s already back home. Beth’s husband Duane “Dog” Chapman revealed exclusively to In Touch that Beth made the decision to leave the hospital in California to go back to their home in Colorado on Saturday, Dec. 1, and he shared an update on Beth’s cancer battle.

“She’s much more comfortable now she can breathe, but she just wanted to come back to Colorado, she loves it here,” Dog, 65, told In Touch. “They told us they didn’t want her to leave the hospital, but she was adamant, she just wanted to be home. We have the test results coming in tomorrow.”

Dog explained that Beth, 51, had to use a wheelchair in order to get to the airplane when they were leaving California and then she had to use a wheelchair again once they landed in Colorado on Saturday. He said that Beth slept much of the day and she tried to get up to do some household chores like the laundry and the dishes, but Dog had made sure all of that was done so that his wife could focus on recovering.

Beth underwent an emergency surgery on Nov. 27, doctors found a lump in her throat that was twice the size as the mass they found in her throat during her previous cancer battle last year. Dog said the doctors cut a hole in her throat so that she could breathe, but while they were performing that surgery, they realized that there was a mass in her lungs that could also be cancerous so she underwent a biopsy the following day.

Dog and Beth are currently awaiting the results of the tests, and Dog admitted that he is nervous to find out what the tests results will reveal. “Yes, I’m nervous about the test results tomorrow,” Dog told In Touch. “It’s like you kinda know what’s gonna happen, but you’re hoping and praying it’s not.”
