‘Teen Mom 2’ Couple Briana DeJesus and John Rodriguez Split Up — Briana Says She ‘Wasn’t Happy’

Briana, 25, introduced fans to her serious boyfriend, John, during this season of Teen Mom 2. The two appeared to be completely smitten with each other on recent episodes.

The former flames would often make time to see each other despite their distance — she resides in Florida while he lives in New York.

However, the time apart might have put a strain on their relationship. Back in July, Briana took to Instagram with a message about their LDR.

“Just waiting for the day my boyfriend tells me he’s moving down here,” the mother-of-two tweeted with a handful of crying emojis. “‘Cause I can’t take this anymore and I miss him tonnnnssssss.”

Fueling Breakup Rumors

Now, Briana has wiped her Instagram page clean of any photos including John and she also unfollowed him.

Focusing on the Positive

The reality star even reportedly posted a cryptic message to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, August 19.
“Time to move on to big and better things,” she wrote.

Family First

On top of that, Briana previously took to Twitter with another personal post.

“I’m just tryna make this money and live a good life with my kids. Everything else is background noise! goodnight,” she tweeted.

Trying Their Best

It seems the rumored tension between them may have started recently, as Briana and her “future baby daddy” John celebrated their one-year anniversary with a romantic “Baecation” in May 2019.

The couple jetted off to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and appeared to be in great spirits. As fans may recall, Briana didn’t go Instagram official with him until September 2018.

Making Memories

John even posted a heartwarming message about his leading lady at the time.

“Over the last few days, we were able to go on our first vacation to celebrate what would be our one year anniversary but most importantly your birthday,” he began.

Showing Love

“I’m proud of the woman I’ve seen you evolve into over the past year and the woman you’ve shown potential to be. Seeing you be able to enjoy yourself and be free made this trip all worth it for me, from seeing you not wanting to do the superwoman with the dolphins after failing once to coming right back with a strong firm pose,” he continued.

Trusting the Process

Back in April, Briana opened up about their blossoming romance and said all was well.

“John and I are VERY happy and everything’s still going really well between us. It’s like no other relationship I’ve had thus far and I’m super stoked about the way things are going,” she told In Touch exclusively.

“Things are proceeding well between us and we’re just enjoying what we currently have — a great relationship built on trust, attraction, and one that we’re enjoying living (mostly) off camera,” Briana added.

Confirmed

Sadly, Briana finally confirmed that she and John broke up on August 21. “To be perfectly frank, I did not plan on addressing my personal life and what was going on in it whatsoever publicly at this time,” she told Us Weekly. “I decided it was best to take matters into my own hands and just address the truth head on.”

She admitted they broke up a few days prior, and added, “I realized I wasn’t happy, had too much on my plate and needed to stay focused on all the things going on in my life including my kids, my new spa, filming Teen Mom 2, my other job and my family … At the end of the day I truly feel bad about what went down with John and I, as he really is a great, sweet, amazing man.”
