Jinger Duggar Mourns the Loss of Beloved Family Member With Heartfelt Tribute: ‘We Miss Him Greatly’
So bittersweet. Jinger Duggar of Counting On fame took to her Instagram Story on February 3 to honor her late grandfather on what would have been his birthday. Check out the video above to see the touching Duggar tribute, and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel.
Jinger, 25, wrote that her grandfather was “such an awesome Gpa” and that “we miss him greatly.” Jimmy Lee Duggar — or J.L. Duggar — was the husband of Mary Duggar and the father of Deanna and Jim Bob Duggar. Mary is, of course, the famed Grandma Mary of the Duggar family, and Jim Bob is the father of nineteen featured on 19 Kids and Counting and other TLC specials about his huge family.
Jinger also noted on her Instagram that her family still makes his favorite cake every year for his birthday. Make sure you watch the video above to find out what kind Jimmy Lee preferred — it’s honestly pretty wholesome and kinda on brand for the Duggars!
On another photo, Jinger added, “We miss our Grandpa.” He died in 2009, but even ten years later, it can still be tough when the birthday of a loved one who has passed rolls around. The reality TV star and mom of Felicity Vuolo added on another old photo that her grandfather “would always sport his Razorback gear” and “had a great love for cars.” He actually sounds kinda cool! How did this guy and Grandma Mary end up raising boring old Jim Bob, anyway?
It’s really nice that the Duggar family still celebrates their Grandpa’s birthday every year. Obviously, he meant a lot to them! It’s just too bad Felicity never got to see her great-grandpa rock one of those car shirts he apparently loved.
