Catelynn Lowell Reveals She’s Sober and Committed to Her Mental Health Journey
We're so proud of Catelynn Lowell! The Teen Mom OG star revealed that she's been sober for five months on April 6, and we're so happy to see that she's doing so well after rehab! See her explanation in the video above.
So what happened five months ago that made her decide to make the change? It seems like the choice lines up with Catelynn's second trip to rehab, which she announced in November 2017. She did a six-week program there before returning home briefly and then deciding she needed more treatment for her anxiety. After another six weeks she seems to be adjusting well and feeling a lot better, and we're so glad to see her taking it seriously and making healthy choices.
However, not all fans are as enthusiastic. Cate does mention that she's not smoking weed anymore, but she didn't say antyhing about drinking, and fans point out that she seemed to be drinking on New Year's Eve. However, Cate has never claimed to have a drinking problem, so it's probably best for her to focus on marijuana for now.
Cate has been saying she wants to quit using cannabis for years now. In 2016 she revealed that she “started smoking weed when I was probably around 12 or 13, when I was younger, which I'm not proud of, but that was when I was young and crazy." However, the show reveals that she hasn't exactly stopped. Until now, that is. While some strains of marijuana can actually help manage anxiety, it doesn't seem like Cate was using it that way. She has now revealed that she's noticed a positive difference since stopping, so good for her!
