This didn’t exactly go as planned. Matt Roloff posted a sweet photo of himself and his girlfriend, Caryn Chandler, on Instagram on July 14, and captioned the shot, “113-degree date night with this cutie and @thehughjackman.” So it sounds like they got in a great night out seeing the Greatest Showman actor! But many of the comments immediately turned negative toward Caryn rather than being glowing reactions to the couple’s outing.

“I can’t stand the backstabbing Karen [sic]!” one person wrote in the replies. Another responded, “She’s using you for money! [Which] is fine if you find happiness in that!! ❤️” Yet another follower wrote, “Oh come on they have been in lust even when he was married … I understand now why Amy [Roloff] was devastated …” Wow, trolls really don’t take a break, do they?

This is far from the first time Matt, 57, and Caryn have dealt with negative comments about them and their relationship on social media. In fact, the Little People, Big World couple seemingly have to defend their relationship to fans all the time. On June 11, when Matt shared a photo from a trip the duo took to visit his daughter Molly Roloff and her husband, Joel Silvius, at their new home in Spokane, Washington, one fan took to the comments and said, “Had you treated Amy the way you treat Caryn, maybe your marriage wouldn’t have hit the rocks.”

But that time, the Roloff Farms owner clapped back. “If only you knew! Unfortunately, I’m not one to talk negative about anyone … especially the mother of my children … but if you had more facts that are missing, you would see an entirely different thing,” the reality TV dad responded. That’s certainly one way to handle the haters!

The comments about Matt treating his ex-wife Amy, 54, badly, or about Caryn being a “backstabber,” are likely due to Amy’s claims that “there was more than just friends going on” between the couple before Matt was divorced from his wife. They’ve never really addressed the rumors, and seem more than happy to let people think whatever they want to while they go off on great date nights together. Hey, you can’t win ’em all!
