No changes. Britney Spears’ dad, Jamie Spears, will still be her conservator after a court hearing took place on Wednesday, September 18, in Los Angeles. While the pop star wasn’t there, her mom, Lynne Spears, was in attendance.

The point of the hearing was to reevaluate Jamie’s role as the 37-year-old’s conservator. The 67-year-old — who has been Britney’s conservator since 2008 — recently stepped down to due to “personal health” reasons, so, the pop star was appointed a temporary new conservator. Jodi Montgomery, Britney’s care manager, has since taken over and will do so until January 20, 2020, according to court documents obtained by In Touch. Jodi will get security guards for Britney, as well as caretakers, and she has the “power to prosecute civil harassment restraining orders that [she] deems appropriate.” Additionally, Jodi will have access to Britney’s psychiatric treatment and care and will be on top of her personal medical treatment, diagnosis and testing.

However, it looks like Jamie will step back into his role when Jodi’s temporary conservatorship ends in January 2020. During the hearing, Jamie stood in front of the judge with his attorneys and Jodi while Lynne, 64, was accompanied by her and Britney’s lawyer, Sam Ingham. The documents and transcripts from their time in court will be sealed, per the judge, since they contain sensitive details and information about Britney’s family and medical records.

It’s been a rough month for Jamie, though. After an alleged altercation took place between Britney’s dad and her son Sean Preston, Kevin Federline, 41, accused him of child abuse. “Mr. Federline alleged the grandfather battered one of the sons on August 24, I believe the 13-year-old,” Sergeant Marta Bugarin, spokeswoman for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, told Radar on September 3.

After the incident, the DJ filed the paperwork and was granted a restraining order against Jamie soon after. Now, Jamie cannot be around or have contact with Sean, 14, or his brother, Jayden James, 13, for three years. The blonde beauty removed her two boys from Jamie’s home in Thousand Oaks, California, and returned them to Kevin afterward.

It seems like Britney is trying to make the best out of a bad situation since the mom of two recently uploaded several videos of herself working out on Instagram and hanging with her boyfriend, Sam Asghari. On September 13, Brit even posted a sweet message about her kiddos in honor of their birthdays. “Oh, how they’ve grown. Mamma loves you guys very, very much!!!! May you get all your birthday wishes and more,” she captioned a throwback photo of the three of them at the beach.

However, Jamie was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing after Kevin accused him of child abuse on September 17. Later that day, Brit shared an uplifting note to social media. “Absolutely love this book,” she wrote, referring to Nicole Crank’s 2017 book called Hi God (It’s Me Again): What to Pray When You Don’t Know What to Say.

We are hoping everything works out the way it should.
