He may only have supervised visits with his mom, but Teen Mom OG tot James Glennon isn’t going to grow up away from his family. Though dad Andrew Glennon has sole custody for now, he wants to make sure that his son with Amber Portwood stays in contact with her side of the family — namely, James’ big sister, Leah. On Friday, September 20, the Teen Mom dad revealed in an Instagram comment that he and Gary Shirley have been in touch about making plans for their kids to hang out.

The topic came up after Andrew, 35, shared a sweet photo of him drying off his son after a bath. In the comments, a fan wanted to let Andrew know that he is “doing a great job raising James,” but they had one concern. “Just don’t let him forget about his sister, Leah,” they wrote. “Keep in contact with her and her parents, Gary and Kristina. She seems to love him dearly. xx.” In response, the father answered, “[I] spoke with Gary and [we’re] planning a baby James visit with him, Kristina, Emmy and Leah soon. Just need to pick a day.”

We’re glad the two will get to see each other again. Just days before Amber’s domestic violence arrest proved to be the nail in the coffin of what was secretly a tumultuous relationship with Andrew, she posted the cutest photo of her two children spending time together. “When Bubby gave Leah a kiss on his birthday, ugh, [it] melted my heart,” she said on July 1. Though Amber may not get to witness those moments in the future, we’re sure James’ dad will be happy to capture them on camera and share them with fans.

The father’s social media presence has been a controversial subject in the wake of his and his ex’s split, however. While talking to Us Weekly, a source close to the MTV stars alleged that his photos were more cruel than kind. “Andrew took James for a haircut and has posted many pictures of James,” they said. “Andrew is rubbing it in Amber’s face that she can’t be with her son.” But the TV producer didn’t agree. He insisted that the only reason he shares photos is to “let everyone [they] love know that James and [himself] are OK,” explaining, “There can’t be any better indication of me wanting a family than me taking care of our beautiful son and keeping him safe.”
