Andrew Glennon Says He ‘Became Numb’ to Amber’s Alleged Attacks for ‘the Sake of Survival’

End of a Chapter

It’s only been a month since reports surfaced revealing that Andrew and Amber, 29, are “done.” Since then, shocking new details about their relationships have been exposed, but Andrew isn’t letting the drama get the best of him. 

Making Memories

On September 19, the reality star dad posted a heartwarming new photo showing him spending quality time with his son, James. In the comment section, one fan pointed out what a great father he is.

Showing Love

“I admire you for your ability to stand up against how you’ve been treated,” it read. “You’re teaching your son very important lessons and I know he will grow up to see you as his hero. Good job daddy!”

Speaking Out

“It’s insane,” Andrew began. “I truly wish I could show you guys the extent of it all, it be too ugly, you’d turn it off after 5 seconds … I became numb to the attacks for sake of survival and only now are the pent up emotions and pain coming to the surface.”

Sharing His Story

The MTV alum continued, “I had no idea. I didn’t know there was such damage and I don’t know if she was aware of how much she was hurting me.”

Trials and Tribulations

Earlier this month, fans heard a jaw-dropping audio recording that documented a dispute between the exes, which reportedly took place on December 24, 2018. Amber can allegedly be heard hitting Andrew while holding onto their son during the altercation.

Heated Dispute

Andrew has since confirmed the authenticity of the recording in a statement with In Touch.
“I’m telling James [when he’s older] that you’re a trash bag,” Amber said at one point in the clip.

Turmoil at Home

“You should tell him you didn’t want him,” the reality star dad replied. “How about that?” Their feud continued on for several minutes, and the tension between them was tangible.

Breaking His Silence

After people heard the audio which also revealed Amber threatened him, Andrew spoke out about the ordeal. “Yes, it is entirely authentic and so hard to listen to,” he told In Touch.

Reliving the Past

The TMOG star revealed that he still has “flashbacks” almost every other day and he also claimed that a family member became “outraged after reading Amber’s statements and watching her abusive live videos,” so they decided to release the recording for the world to hear.

Lessons Learned

“There are many more and they are all hard to hear/see,” he continued. “Domestic violence in the presence of a baby is never acceptable.”

New Perspective

“It was my fault to give her the benefit of the doubt and it nearly proved fatal,” Andrew concluded. “Never again.” 

Backstory Revealed

The former flames welcomed their first child, James, in May 2018. Amber is also the proud mother of a precious daughter named Leah, shared with her ex Gary Shirley. 

Tough Times

Andrew and Amber first sparked a connection on the set of Marriage Boot Camp: Family Edition in 2017. Unfortunately, they have been making headlines in recent months due to their relationship woes.

Taking Action

In July 2019, the mother of two was arrested for domestic battery and shortly afterwards, Andrew filed for sole custody of their son.

Custody Update

By the end of the month, the mother of two was awarded supervised visits with her son, James, after the no-contact order was lifted. We hope everything works out for the best!
