It’s been a busy couple of years for the stars of Little People, Big World — engagements, weddings, babies, divorces and a tattoo to top things off! For Amy Roloff‘s 50th birthday, the proud mama (and grandma!) decided to mark the milestone permanently, but don’t think she took the decision lightly.

During an interview with People in July 2016, the now 60-year-old said, “It took me three years to decide is this really what I wanted to do. I mean, it is permanent. ‘Should I or shouldn’t I? Is this going to hurt and how much? Am I doing something crazy just because it’s a milestone birthday?'” She added, “I wasn’t a fan of tattoos and yet I kept thinking about getting one. Then the time came to decide, ‘I’m either going to do this or drop the crazy idea altogether. This will hurt,’ I think I kept thinking.”

As for the design? She came up with it all on her own! “I was thinking of something simple and of course had some real meaning to me,” she explained. “Daisies are my favorite flower and of course a rose or roses. Being a mom to four kids is the most significant event and gifts of my life. Where I was and am in my life right now there is more to Amy and life. More life to live, experience, to give, to do and love.”

More to love, indeed. The reality star and her husband, Matt Roloff – who shot to fame alongside Amy thanks to their hit TLC show – announced they were going their separate ways in 2015. Finalizing their divorce in 2016, Amy soon moved on and started dating boyfriend Chris Marek. By 2019, Amy and Chris were engaged! They tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at the Roloff family farm in August 2021.

“I think the wedding day, for me, turned out perfectly,” the reality star told People of the ceremony, which aired as a special Little People, Big World episode in November 2021. “It was decorated just like I wanted it to.” The newlyweds set off for a honeymoon adventure in Maui, Hawaii, the following week.

As for now, Amy only has the one tattoo honoring her four children, but perhaps fans will see new ink in the future that reflects her growing family. The Little People, Big World star has seven grandchildren as of publication – will she head to the tattoo parlor to commemorate the little ones in her life? Time will certainly tell!
