It's been an exciting couple of years for the stars of Little People, Big World — engagements, weddings, babies, and a tattoo! For Amy Roloff's 50th birthday, the proud mama (and grandma!) decided to mark the milestone permanently, but don't think she took the decision lightly.

During an interview with People in July 2016, the now 52-year-old said, "It took me three years to decide is this really what I wanted to do. I mean, it is permanent. ‘Should I or shouldn’t I? Is this going to hurt and how much? Am I doing something crazy just because it’s a milestone birthday?'" She added, "I wasn’t a fan of tattoos and yet I kept thinking about getting one. Then the time came to decide, ‘I’m either going to do this or drop the crazy idea altogether. This will hurt,’ I think I kept thinking."

As for the design? She came up with it all on her own! "I was thinking of something simple and of course had some real meaning to me," she said. "Daisies are my favorite flower and of course a rose or roses. Being a mom to four kids is the most significant event and gifts of my life. Where I was and am in my life right now there is more to Amy and life. More life to live, experience, to give, to do and love."

More to love, indeed. The reality star has moved on with a new boyfriend since her split from Matt — whom she divorced in 2015 after 27 years of marriage — and she also has a grandson, with another grandchild on its way!

"I just never thought someone who is average size would be interested in me. I just really want him to never question or doubt the relationship because I’m a little person. I just have a good time. I have fun with him. I never thought I’d be dating as a grandma, and it’s nice to experience that and be with someone." Amy certainly has a lot to smile about these days — maybe she'll get a second one soon!
