Her relationship with her family has always been complicated, but Amy King (née Duggar) seems to be shading her Counting On cousins in a new cryptic post. In a tweet shared on Thursday, August 13, the 19 Kids and Counting alum talked about letting go of people in your past and embracing your future instead.

“Hang out with people who help raise you up,” Amy, 33, wrote on the social media site. “They fit into your future. Do not hang out with people who bring you down and remind you of the past.”

Recently, the star seems to have distanced herself from her family. She first started speaking out in March after her interview with the Without a Crystal Ball YouTube channel was shut down. Though host Katie Joy claimed Amy didn’t say anything negative about her family, “someone” contacted the Duggar cousin to let her know the video would “need to come down.”

On Twitter, the “rebel” relative didn’t name any names, but she did lash out at those who would stop her from speaking out and telling her own story. “I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. … ‘A [woman’s] voice should never be silenced,’” she wrote. Based on the allegations Derick Dillard has shared in his own statements, many assumed Jim Bob Duggar was responsible for getting the interview taken down.

A few months later, Jinger Vuolo (née Duggar) found herself in her cousin’s crosshairs. After the “Hope We Hold” host and husband Jeremy Vuolo tackled the subject of mental health on their podcast in July, Amy called them out for implying that anxiety is “something you can pray away.” In an Instagram comment, she contradicted Jinger’s advice, writing, “I am a Christian. … Sure, prayer does help me when I feel extremely [overwhelmed], but it’s OK to seek counseling and take medication. It’s OK to not be OK. For some, it’s truly a daily battle. … Nobody should be ashamed for it, either.”

She also praised cousin Jill Dillard (née Duggar) after the Counting On alum and her husband also seemed to take some space from dad Jim Bob. The Dillards and the Kings have been spending a lot of time together in recent months, and Amy snapped a selfie with Jill to share on Instagram in July. “You smile just a bit brighter these days!” she wrote, seemingly praising her cousin for finding her own path. “So proud of you, hippie chick!”
