Amanda Bynes Posts Video With Fiance and Apologizes for Calling Celebrities ‘Ugly’: ‘I Was Drugged Out’
Making amends. Amanda Bynes shared a video with her new fiancé, Paul Michael, via Instagram on Thursday, February 20, where she apologized for calling celebrities “ugly” on social media in 2013. “Hey everyone, this is Paul, my fiancé,” the 33-year-old star began. “I am so lucky. As you can see, he is drop-dead gorgeous, and he is the best person on the face of the earth. I just wanted to post a video to say I am sorry to everyone who I called ugly on Twitter.”
The Easy A actress revealed why she called out A-listers including Rihanna, RuPaul, Chrissy Teigen, Jay-Z and more in the first place. “I was feeling so ugly at the time, and it was hard for me to express myself at the time because I was so drugged out,” she continued.
Luckily, it seems like Amanda — who got engaged on Valentine’s Day — is doing great these days. “Now, I have remained sober for over a year. Same with Paul,” she admitted. “I just want to let you know that I love you guys, and I am so happy now. I feel like I got what is mine and that is Paul.”
In the past few years, Amanda has struggled with addiction and stepped away from the spotlight. Now, the California native wants to celebrate her recent milestones with her fans. So much so, she gave her followers a glimpse into what she was has in store for them on February 18. “Sup, Instagram!” she said in the clip. “Just wanted to say hi to all of my followers. I really wanted to say I appreciate you guys so much for supporting me.”
She continued, “Wanted to check in and let you know I am out to dinner with my friend Cathy, who is a student advisor at FIDM, my college. I’m really looking forward to starting my clothing line, and I’m really hoping that in the near future it will be out online.”
On February 14, the All That alum showed off her new bling on the ‘gram, writing, “Engaged to the love of my life.” Since then, Amanda hasn’t stopped posting selfies with her beau. “Lover,” she captioned one snap. “My love is Paul,” she wrote on another picture.
