It’s great that she could make it! Amanda Bynes is seeking treatment from a rehab facility but was still able to attend her graduation from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising school in Los Angeles after five years on June 24. “Amanda had a day pass from the rehab facility that she is currently still at, and was allowed to attend her graduation at FIDM,” a source told Us Weekly on June 27. However, the insider added, “Amanda’s doctors don’t have a timeline as to when she will be released.”

Amanda, 33, sought treatment at a rehab facility earlier this year after being sober for three years. Her legal representation revealed to Access in April that the move was actually her idea. “It was her decision and her choice to address the situation [and] seek treatment, which I think is an incredibly mature way of handling this type of thing,” her lawyer, Tamar Arminak, said. “I will tell you she’s doing remarkably well under the circumstances. This time around she realized herself after the recent Paper Magazine interview and spread that she really wasn’t feeling like herself all of a sudden and that she wanted to address that.”

In November, Amanda opened up about her past drug abuse in an interview with Paper magazine. She started smoking marijuana when she was 16 and, “it progressed to doing molly and ecstasy,” she said. “[I tried] cocaine three times, but I never got high from cocaine. I never liked it. It was never my drug of choice.” She also apparently took a liking to Adderall.

It’s good that the actress recognized she needed treatment to feel like “herself” again this time around, and when it comes to her educational goals, it seems to have paid off. The actress enrolled in the fashion school in early 2014, and started working toward earning her bachelor’s degree in January, Us Weekly reported. She previously received her Associate of Arts degree in merchandise product development back in the fall of 2018. She shared a rare photo on Twitter from her FIDM graduation on June 24, and wrote, “FIDM graduate 2019 #fidmgraduation.” Amanda should be very proud!
