They always say it's better to have a few great friends than lots of fair-weathered ones— and the same rings true for celebrities.
As the cover girl for Company magazine’s June 2013 issue, Demi Lovato is opening up about how her inner circle of friends got quite a bit smaller after returning from rehab...and she's okay with that.“I don't have loads of friends,” she revealed to the mag. “I used to, but then I realized, do any of them actually care?”
PHOTO: Demi Lovato Goes Topless for New Album Cover ArtThe former Disney darling received treatment for physical and emotional issues including bulimia, self-injury and self-medicating from October 2010 to January 2011 before returning to LA.“A couple of months before I went to rehab, I had a birthday party and there were a couple of hundred people there. It was full of people who I considered my closest friends," she shares in the interview. "When I turned my phone on after being in rehab for three months, I expected lots of text messages and phone calls. I had four texts. That was a wake up call."Although she came home to a harsh reality, the "Heart Attack" singer now knows her close friends are people she can really rely on.“Now I have people who, if I break my leg in the middle of the night, they’ll come to the hospital with me," she said. "Or they’ll answer the phone at 4 a.m. if I need them."

I stick to my neighborhood and to my closest friendships.”And who needs loads of friends when you’re doing just fine on your own!
