Bradley Cooper Actually Had a Very Good Reason for Not Attending the 2019 Met Gala
So, where was Bradley Cooper at the 2019 Met Gala? The actor actually had a good reason why he couldn’t attend the prestigious event with his girlfriend, Irina Shayk. “He’s currently working in Los Angeles working as a producer on post-production of Joker, the Joaquin Phoenix-led Batman origin story,” his publicist explained to USA Today.
However, it didn’t stop the 33-year-old model from going to the gala, though. The brunette beauty wore a custom Burberry by Riccardo Tisci plunging blue dress, and she looked amazing.
Meanwhile, Bradley’s costar and friend Lady Gaga was a cochair at this year’s Met Gala. The 33-year-old changed four times on the carpet and wore a Brandon Maxwell exclusive dress.
The “Bad Romance” crooner and the 44-year-old played lovers in A Star Is Born and ever since the duo stepped out at various award shows, many people thought Bradley was leaving his girlfriend for Lady Gaga. At the 2019 Oscars, the Hollywood A-listers got incredibly close before they took the stage to perform “Shallow.” During their epic duet, the pair couldn’t stop gazing into each other’s eyes.
When the New York native won a Grammy for the hit song “Shallow” on February 10, she couldn’t help but gush about her costar and friend. “I know he wants to be here,” referring to the Pennsylvania native not being able to make the awards show because he was in London. “Bradley, I loved singing this song with you. If I don’t get a chance to say this, I just want to say, I’m so proud to be part of a movie that addresses mental health issues. That’s so important.”
However, the actress finally explained their relationship to Jimmy Kimmel in late February. “This is a love song … The movie A Star Is Born is a love story. We worked so hard. We worked all week on that performance,” she said. “From a performance perspective, it was so important to both of that we were connected the entire time … I mean, when you’re singing love songs that’s what you want people to feel.”
She added, “I’m an artist. I guess we did a good job. And … fooled you!”
The Oscar nominee fueled split rumors when she showed up to the Grammy Awards without her engagement ring on. Shortly after, it was confirmed that the blonde beauty called off her engagement to Christian Carino.
Meanwhile, the dad of one is enjoying his time with his lady. The two were recently spotted on a dinner date in Santa Monica on April 18.
