‘Sister Wives’ Star Christine Brown ‘Jealous’ Husband Kody Dated Fellow Sister Wife Robyn During Her Pregnancy
Trouble in paradise? Sister Wives star Christine Brown admitted in her family’s 2012 book Becoming Sister Wives: The Story of an Unconventional Marriage via Radar Online that she was very jealous when her husband, Kody Brown, dated his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, during Christine’s last pregnancy. “Kody and Robyn’s courtship came at a time of huge personal upheaval,” she wrote. Christine also revealed that she felt like she “lost” her identity, adding that she “couldn’t see myself as Kody’s wife. Instead, I felt inconsequential, as if I’d been pushed to the side.” Sounds like Kody’s third wife really went through a rough patch.
Christine married Kody, 50, in a spiritual ceremony on March 25, 1994. They have six children together. Kody and Robyn, 40, spiritually wed on May 22, 2010, so there was clearly a very long period in which Christine was the last wife brought into the family. We can see how that change in the status quo could upset any sort of balance they’d all found — and of course, postpartum depression is no joke. That can mess with you even if there aren’t other wives to contend with as well.
These days, Christine and Robyn seem to get along OK on TLC’s Sister Wives. But like any relationship, it takes work. As season 8 continues, it will be interesting to see if any of that old resentment rears its ugly head.
