Onto the Next! Katie Holmes Was the One Who Pulled the Plug on Her Relationship With Jamie Foxx
After six years together, Katie Holmes was the one to pull the plug on her relationship with Jamie Foxx, a source told Us Weekly. On Monday, August 19, In Touch confirmed that the former flames decided to call it quits.
So, why did the 40-year-old actress decide to put herself back on the market? For one, Katie didn’t enjoy being on opposite coasts from her man. “Katie and Jamie’s relationship has been long-distance. He’s been living in L.A. full time, and she’s been in New York,” a source exclusively told In Touch. “It’s been way on and off for years, and Katie’s always had a hard time with it.”
It’s no surprise that the Hollywood A-listers aren’t together anymore since the 51-year-old actor made headlines when he was spotted hanging out with two different women in Los Angeles. On August 15, the Oscar winner was with a mystery blonde at Delilah and Highlight Room. Two days later, he held hands with singer Sela Vave — who he is currently mentoring — outside Bootsy Bellows nightclub in West Hollywood. Katie wasn’t happy with Jamie’s lifestyle since they argued “nonstop over his partying.”
Unfortunately, Katie’s new chapter in life doesn’t involve the Robin Hood actor. “For months he’s been promising to calm his wild ways, but nothing’s changed, and she’s finally come to the conclusion that she wants to be with a guy who’s more mature and ready to settle down,” the insider added. “She also can’t keep an eye on him when he’s in L.A. and is fed up with doing the whole long-distance thing, so she gave him an ultimatum — either move to New York or it’s over!”
Jamie couldn’t come to terms with packing up his California home, so Katie decided it was best to move on. “He refuses to leave his hometown, so she called it a day,” the source said. “They’ve been on and off for a while, but Jamie always manages to talk Katie into giving him another chance. Friends are hoping that she doesn’t take him back this time around.
Katie — who was previously married to Tom Cruise — and Jamie first sparked romance rumors back in 2013 when they were seen dancing together at a charity event in New York. Finally, in 2018, the duo was spotted out and about during trips to New Orleans and Miami. In 2019, they made a rare public appearance together at the Met Gala.
It seemed like the two were serious about one another, but sometimes, all good things must come to an end.
