Congrats are in order for Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom! The couple got engaged on Valentine’s Day and it looks like they are over the moon. Sadly, he died in a tragic accident when he fell from a rooftop in 2012. “A lot of her songs were partially inspired by him,” an insider told Us Weekly at the time. “She had to separate from him … to get ahead and focus on her career.”

The “Teenage Dream” singer and the Gym Class Heroes frontman dated from 2007 to 2008. In 2010, he admitted that his song “Don’t Pretend” was about his ex. “At the end of the day, I think anyone who has been through some s—t can relate to that song,” he told Complex magazine. “It could have been about my girlfriends before, but I’ma keep it real with you, it was definitely about Katy Perry.” Meanwhile, Katy’s song “Circle The Drain” was supposedly about Travie.

The duo supposedly dated in early 2009, but neither confirmed anything at the time. During a livestream in 2017, the California native revealed that her song “The One That Got Away” was about Josh. “We did [date],” the songwriter confessed on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in September 2018. “We were both very private, and so we realized we were better as friends. And we’ve been very, very good friends to this day. She’s the best. But I was not expecting that. That was a double take and a spit of my coffee when I saw that.”
