Can someone cut Wendy Williams a break? The star may have taken a several weeks-long vacation from her own TV show, but she wasn’t exactly kicking her feet up on a beach somewhere. On the March 19 episode of The Wendy Williams Show, the talk show host revealed she’s been dealing with addiction issues recently and even moved in to a sober house. The next day, on Wednesday, March 20, the 54-year-old was spotted leaving the sober house in the morning — and she looked seriously rough.

Though she donned a fabulous cheetah-print coat with a sunny yellow bag, Wendy seemed exhausted both physically and emotionally. Though she’s likely getting plenty of sleep considering the 10 p.m. curfew, it’s got to still be hard work to be confronting such serious issues. She’s also keeping a rigorous schedule between work, attending addiction support meetings all over the tri-state area, and seeing a sober coach for even more help. She detailed what her typical day is like on the show.

“After I [have] finished my appointments, I am driven by my 24-hour sober coach back to the home that I live in here in the tri-state with a bunch of smelly boys who have become my family,” the star shared. “They hog the TV and watch soccer, we talk and read and talk and read, and then I get bored with them. Doors are locked by 10 p.m. Lights out by 10 p.m. So I go to my room, and I stare at the ceiling and I fall asleep to wake up and come back here to see you. So that is my truth.”

But her struggle hasn’t just been hard on her. It’s also been hard on the staff of her show. “They all knew something was up, but didn’t know details. The staff have all been kept at arm’s length,” a source told Radar Online. “Everyone has been walking on eggshells. … Last week a high profiled publicist was at the show with a client and spoke to Wendy during a commercial break. Things got crazy, the publicist got pushed away by security and told by producers that they can NEVER approach or talk to Wendy ever again. She’s literally isolating herself and trusts no one. … The staff has given her everything to make her and the show a hit, and yet, she still doesn’t trust them. It’s crazy.”
