We’re all here for you, girl. Wendy Williams is trying to keep her head up after filing for divorce from her husband of more than 21 years, Kevin Hunter. “She still has healing to do, but she’s taken several major steps in the right direction. She’s strong and resilient,” a source revealed to Us Weekly.

The 54-year-old has a great support system by her side, including her 19-year-old son Kevin Hunter Jr. “He cares deeply about his mom and has been a rock,” the insider confessed to the outlet. Wendy’s son means everything to her. The teen may have even been the reason for the talk show host’s jump start to a more positive lifestyle amid becoming sober. “Wendy took the proper steps to get better not only for herself but for Little Kev, too,” an insider exclusively told In Touch. “I would say he is the source of her strength. Her top priority is her son and she only wants the best for him. She said it on her show this week — she has a whole new life planned for them. Now, Wendy will finally be happy.”

On April 11, the New Jersey native served her husband, 46, with divorce papers while he was backstage at The Wendy Williams Show. Now, Wendy no longer has to mix business, with pleasure. Why? Well, because Kevin was fired as Wendy’s manager and the show’s executive producer, a spokesperson for the show told Us Weekly on April 18. We’re glad the brunette beauty’s crew has her back. “It’s like a weight lifted off everyone’s shoulders,” an insider told Us Weekly. “Kevin’s toxicity was dragging everyone down … While the future is somewhat unclear, what is clear is that Wendy has a huge support system comprised of her staff, industry colleagues and family.”

The divorce honestly did not come as a shock to most considering there have been rumors that Kevin was allegedly cheating on Wendy with his alleged mistress Sharina Hudson for over 10 years. In March 2019, fuel was added to the fire after it was reported that the 33-year-old had welcomed a child. Wendy has not confirmed why she has decided to end things … but, if this is true, she for sure had a pretty good reason.
