He’s not afraid to speak his mind. Tyler Baltierra opened up about a low point is his marriage on last night’s premiere of Teen Mom OG, confessing that he was feeling “sucked dry” of energy after his wife Catelynn Lowell checked into rehab. Tyler didn’t hold back while talking with his mom Kim and his stepdad Bill about Cate’s struggles with anxiety and depression.

The 26-year-old MTV star expressed his frustration with Cate, 26, skipping some of her classes while in an inpatient mental health treatment center. “I guess she just watches movies all night, but I just don’t say anything…” he began, while explaining why he’s grown emotionally tired of the situation. “You never seen her on the couch for days in a row in her robe,” Tyler told Bill. “Is that depressing for you…to see her on the couch in a robe all day?,” his mom asked and Tyler responded, “No it’s not depressing. It’s repulsing.”

Both Bill and Kim looked shocked by his words and Tyler revealed that he was still trying to be supportive of Catelynn. “That’s why I want to go to therapy, like something’s wrong with me. I’m losing sympathy and empathy. Maybe the empathy and sympathy is sucked dry, I don’t know, but I recognize that and that’s why I need to figure this out,” he explained to his loved ones. “When I see her doing nothing, it makes me upset,” Kim added, “and then she goes back in [to treatment], and you’re abandoned for six weeks with Nova, and it’s a lot of stress.”

On Oct. 1, Tyler took to Twitter to clear the air since he knew his statements would be judged. “I know I will most likely get a ton of backlash from viewers this season and that’s OK, honestly…it will NEVER hold me back from being 100% real and honest,” he wrote. “Loving someone through severe depression and anxiety takes a toll and I’m only one human being that experiences weak moments too.” And thankfully, it looks like they’re going stronger than ever these days, as Tyler and Catelynn recently announced they’re expecting baby No. 3
