She’s got her mom’s back! Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evansand her mom Barbara Evans caused quite the stir after Barbara said she wanted to “kill” Jenelle’s enemy Kailyn Lowry during an Instagram Live session on Saturday, January 19. But shortly after Barbara made the controversial comment, Jenelle took to Instagram Live once again to explain that her mother did not mean it in a threatening way. It seems like higher-ups at MTV came down on Jenelle, 27, and Babs pretty quickly after that controversial comment.

Not that serious!
“My producer just called us about this,” Jenelle said. “My mom is just chillin’ like, guys — chill out. Seriously. You guys have nothing to be spazzing about at all. we’re not gonna hurt anyone, we’re not gonna harm anyone. I promise you.”

Babs explains.
“So earlier I was talking to Brittany [DeJesus], Briana’s sister,” Barbara told the camera. “And I said that I wanted to kill Kail and everybody took it out of perspective. That’s not really what I meant, I was doing a joke.”

Calm down, dude.
“Dude it was a stupid f–king joke. Just chill the f–k out. Kail’s probably watching this s–t right now,” Jenelle said.

Jenelle defends her mom.
“My mom has not been on Instagram or Facebook or anything for a long time,” Jenelle said. “The old generation, you gotta give them the benefit of the doubt. They don’t know what they’re talking about, they don’t know that this s–t will be taken seriously if they say it.”

No bad blood between Babs and Kail!
“It was only a joke. I was being sarcastic and everybody freaks out like I wanna go and kill the girl. Come on, I’ve known the girl for 10 years, that’s like crazy s–t. You can’t say anything in the public without people freaking out like I’m gonna go out and kill the girl with a gun,” Barbara continued. “Everything’s cool. I’ve always gotten along with Kail. She has differences between her and Jenelle that doesn’t pertain to me. It was only a joke.”

Kail doesn’t seem to think so.
After fans alerted her to what was said, the 26-year-old took to Twitter to comment on the situation.

“I want no association with any person or network that works with that family,” Kailyn told In Touch exclusively.

“I have 3 kids to live for, just like Barbara herself. I’m disgusted it came from her,” Kail continued.

Babs made those comments about Kail during what seemed to be a rare mother-daughter bonding trip.

They’ve just rekindled their relationship.
Jenelle and Babs have had a very rocky mother-daughter relationship, which has been well-documented on Teen Mom 2.

It’s nice to see Jenelle defend her mom after all of the backlash.

Kail made a threat of her own.
When asked if she considered quitting the show because Babs’ behavior, Kailyn told In Touch, “I won’t be filming until further notice, that’s for sure.”
