She’s setting the record straight. Teen Mom OG‘s Taylor Selfridge is expecting her first child with The Challenge alum Cory Wharton and recently revealed that she was originally pregnant with twins. But she wants to make it clear that she did not miscarry the second baby. “I don’t like that people are calling it a miscarriage now. It’s called vanishing twin syndrome or disappearing twin syndrome,” Taylor, 25, told Us Weekly. “We went in for a check-up on our baby and they had found a separate empty sac so we didn’t know that we had twins before that.”

The couple revealed in October that they were expecting. “It was definitely a surprise,” Cory told Us Weekly at the time. The duo said they found out Taylor was pregnant about two months prior. Cory shares his daughter, Ryder, with ex-girlfriend Cheyenne Floyd, but this new baby will be Taylor’s first.

Taylor posted an Instagram Story on Wednesday, November 27, to share the news with her followers that they believed they were going to have two babies, but lost one. “I’m doing just fine,” she wrote. “I’m happy, healthy, our baby is healthy. A few days after the announcement, we found out we were supposed to actually have twins, I ended up losing one of them. But on the positive side, my baby is healthy! And I’m 19 weeks now.”

“I was so stressed out during the first trimester that I was afraid it was my fault that happened and that’s what I struggle with now,” the Ex on the Beach star told Us. “Our baby is very healthy, we have no genetic issues to worry about after testing and we’re very happy about that.”

Over on Instagram, Cory shared news of the pregnancy with his own fans on October 16. “I’m excited to say that YES Taylor is pregnant!!!! Ryder is going to be a big sister, oh boyyy 😂,” he wrote. “We weren’t trying to have a baby right now, but sometimes God puts things into your life that you don’t really understand at the time but it always turns out to be a bigger blessing.”

As much as it might have been tough for the couple to deal with losing the second baby before they knew it existed, it sounds like they’re more than ready to welcome their new little one into their lives whenever it’s ready to make an appearance.
