‘Teen Mom OG’ Star Cory Wharton and Taylor Selfridge Are Expecting Their First Child Together
Congrats! Teen Mom OG star Cory Wharton and his girlfriend, Taylor Selfridge, are expecting their first child together, the couple revealed in the new issue of Us Weekly. “It was definitely a surprise,” the 28-year-old admitted. “Just being there from the day she found out that she’s pregnant and knowing that it was mine, I knew that I was going to have to step up.”
Taylor, 25, found out she had a bun in the oven about two months ago and is currently 11 weeks along. The MTV personality — who shares 2-year-old daughter Ryder with his ex-girlfriend Cheyenne Floyd — is ready to be a dad for the second time, but this time will be a bit different since he didn’t know Ryder was his child until she was six months old. “It’s exciting for me. It’s gonna be a lot, but I’m excited,” he gushed. “I never went to an ultrasound, you know? I never went to the doctor’s appointments to see her check-ups and things like that. So, for me, this is like my first baby almost, as weird as that sounds.”
Cory and Taylor met during season 1 of Ex on the Beach in 2014 and started dating after the show. The pair called it quits for a short period of time but have now been together for two years. In the beginning, Taylor and Cheyenne didn’t get along very well, but now it seems like everyone is on the same page. “It took time and effort from both sides to put our differences aside and to know we share a common goal,” the brunette beauty told In Touch exclusively in August about her bond with Taylor. “I love Ryder and want her to always be surrounded by good loving people.”
Cory went on to explain how he broke the news to his ex. “I went over to Cheyenne’s house, and I was dropping Ryder off, and I just said, ‘Hey, so Ryder’s going to be a sister!’ There’s no easy way to tell somebody that,” the dad of one said. “I just had to drop the bomb. So, I told her, and her sister was there. They were just asking me all the questions, like, ‘Are you OK?’ ‘How’s Taylor doing?’ ‘Does she need a doctor?’”
The blonde beauty was hesitant to tell Cheyenne the exciting announcement, but luckily, she is on board with growing their extended family. “They really were supportive from day one,” Cory shared.
So, do the lovebirds know the sex of the baby yet? Not at the moment, but Cory hopes to have another little girl. “I just originally thought it was a boy, but now I don’t know,” Taylor said. “Everybody’s saying girl, so now I just feel like it’s a girl!”
