‘Sister Wives’ Star Meri Brown Hints at ‘Healing’ and ‘Transformation’ in 2020
What could she be referring to? Meri Brown updated her Instagram Story with a quote about what’s to come for her in the new year, and it might raise some eyebrows with Sister Wives fans.
“2020 smells like healing, transformation, blessings and success,” Meri, 48, shared to her Story over a photo of a long road on December 29. Could the healing and transformation parts of that goal have anything to do with her relationship with her husband, Kody Brown, or her sister wives — Janelle, Christine and Robyn?
The newest season of Sister Wives is coming back to TLC on January 5 and the trailer for it suggested that Meri and Kody, 50, are still struggling in their marriage.
Even though the duo committed to leaving the “bad energy” in their marriage behind when they moved with the family to Flagstaff, Arizona, there was still a lot of tension between Kody and Meri in the teaser for the new season. “We’re a family, but we’re not acting married,” Kody said to their therapist in the trailer. “He doesn’t want to move forward with trying to work things out with me,” Meri added.
In the tell-all episode of the previous season of the reality show, Kody explained their relationship was still strained due to mistrust. “It’s a matter of trust,” he noted. “And it’s a matter of spending five years in Las Vegas without trust. There was an energy at our house, and the cul-de-sac, but even to have it brought up again is nothing, because we’ve moved to Flagstaff, and we’ve left that behind us.”
Meri added at the time, “I totally agree. You know, it’s like we left that bad, funky energy in Las Vegas, we’re moving on, you know. We’re moving forward, and it’s done.” But is it really?
Not only is there tension between Kody and his first wife in the trailer for the new season, but Robyn, 41, and Meri’s relationship might be suffering as well. “He relayed the conversation wrong, FYI,” Meri said at one point in the trailer to Kody’s fourth wife, who snapped back at her, “Can I talk for a second?”
It’s possible that 2020 will be all about healing these various rifts in Meri’s life.
