Still seeking sister wife? The Snowden family returned to season 2 of TLC’s hit reality TV series Seeking Sister Wife to continue their search to find a second wife for patriarch Dimitri Snowden and a sister wife for his wife, Ashley Snowden. It seemed like Dimitri and Ashley found their perfect match in Vanessa Cobbs, and they even made it official by tying the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony that aired during the season finale. But unfortunately, Vanessa’s union Dimitri and Ashley was short-lived and she left the Snowdens shortly after the tell-all was filmed.
“After some deep soul searching, I have decided to part ways with the Snowdens,” Vanessa wrote in a statement on Instagram. “I love Ashley, Dimitri and the children so much, and will continue to do so always. However, my love and commitment to them overshadowed my love and commitment to them overshadowed my love and commitment to myself. I was not being truly honest with myself until recently. I was ignoring my inner guidance which was telling me that I do not belong with them in the capacity that they need me to. I now know that just because you love someone (or a family), does not necessarily mean that you are meant to be with them. Sometimes their long-established dynamic is not aligned with your own personal growth and path forward.”
Vanessa’s statement seems to prove that the split was amicable. In the Snowden family’s statement, they also hinted that while they are sad that their time with Vanessa was short, there is no bad blood between them.
“We are deeply saddened by Vanessa’s decision to leave our family,” the Snowdens wrote. “We take our family dynamic and the relationships we build with others very seriously. We make sure we always do our best and give our absolute all. We also know we must respect when someone feels they must move on and try to do that with a spirit of acceptance. While we had an incredible, loving year together with Vanessa, it is important for us to take the time necessary to heal from this divorce, extracting the lessons and the blessings from this experience and use them as the strength we need to continue moving forward with our dream to create a beautiful, like-minded Snowden family tribe.”
