Going Strong or Torn Apart? Find Out Which ‘Seeking Sister Wife’ Couples Are Still Together

The Brineys

Drew Briney and his wives April, Auralee and Angela, all starred on season 1 of TLC’s Seeking Sister Wife. The couple was one of the only polygamous family on season 1 who were not actively seeking a new sister wife. Drew was already married to first wife April, second wife Auralee and they had just welcomed third wife Angela into their family at the time of filming. They documented their tense transition of adding wife No. 3 on season 1.

Unfortunately, the addition of a third wife seemed to reveal the cracks in Drew and April’s relationship. As In Touch previously reported, Drew filed for divorce from April in June 2018 after 20 years of marriage and it was finalized just weeks later.

In January 2019, the remaining Brineys confirmed that they would not be returning for season 2 in a statement posted on their now-defunct blog.

The Snowdens

Dimitri and Ashley Snowden were spiritually married for nine years when they joined the cast in season 1. At the time, they had been courting a woman named Joselyn, but their relationship was short-lived. They returned for season 2 with Vanessa and they welcomed her into their polygamous brood with a spiritual wedding ceremony that aired on the show.

After Dimitri and Ashley’s split from Vanessa following the season 2 tell-all, they already had two new love interests lined up by the time they returned for season 3.

“Ashley and I have always wanted a plural family, and the day that we found Vanessa and we married her, we thought that was it,” he said. Ashley revealed they did take some time to process the breakup before courting new partners. “After we divorced, not only did we heal, but we are courting two women at the same time,” she said about new flames Tayler Middleton and Christeline Petersen a.k.a. “Chrissy.”

But as fans watched, things did not work out with the Snowdens and Tayler. Shortly after she changed her week-long stay with the Snowdens into a permanent move, the coronavirus pandemic hit. Since Dimitri’s business suffered as his client’s businesses shuttered, it was up to him and Tayler to turn to work as delivery people to make money for their family — which included the Snowdens’ three children and Chrissy’s two children.

On top of that, Tayler was clashing and butting heads with Ashley. After weeks of tension, Tayler told the Snowdens that she wanted to go on a trip to Texas to visit her family, and she just never returned. After ghosting the family, Tayler came face to face with Dimitri via video call and they agreed to end their relationship.

“Being frank, I have found peace in putting time and energy in my business and not worrying about the friction and being quarantined with everyone being so stressed out,” she told Dimitri.

Tayler explained that she was “happy” with where she was at, and they both realized they should end things. “It sounds like it’s just better if we keep doing what we do here, you do what you do,” Dimitri said. “This is weird. I don’t know what to say, honestly,” Tayler responded. Dimitri added, “I know this sucks, and I’m really sorry that things didn’t work out.”

Years later, Tayler opened up about the 2020 split from the Snowdens, calling the situation “dysfunctional.” 

“Imagine being quarantined in a house with your ‘soon-to-be husband,’ his two other wives and their 5 children,” she wrote via Instagram in March 2023, referencing Dimitri, Ashley and Christeline. “That’s 9 dysfunctional humans stuck together in a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house in the middle of a world crisis.”

Tayler said it was “very clear that my presence really permeated the space and made it quite uncomfortable for the other family members to be in peace.”

As for Chrissy, it appears she did not last very long with the Snowdens as well. Even though fans watched as Chrissy accepted Dimitri’s proposal and went through with their wedding, things also did not work out. Dimitri filed for divorce from Chrissy in May 2021, In Touch confirmed.

It seems that while they were experiencing issues in their relationships with Tayler and Chrissy, Ashley and Dimitri were also going through their own marital problems. After months of speculation, Ashley confirmed her breakup from Dimitri via Instagram in July 2021, writing, “I’m single and grateful for life.” While Ashley advised fans not to ask “personal questions of people you don’t know, personally,” she also said she was “deeply moved by the DMs, check-ins, words of encouragement, and shared experiences I receive daily.”

The Alldredges

It’s been a long journey for the Alldredges, but they have been more than open about their hits and misses along the way. When fans met the family on season 1, Jeff Alldredge had two wives, Vanessa and Sharis. They courted a woman named Melina during the first season, but that relationship did not pan out. When they returned for season 2, they courted potential sister wife Jennifer, but that relationship did not work out either. The couple did not return for season 3.

In July 2020, they shared a big update on their official Facebook page. “We are so pleased to introduce the new additions to our family, our new sister wife, Donna, and her beautiful daughter, Evelyn. This has been a long time in coming, but the destination has been well worth [it].”

By October 2020, they had some exciting news to share. “For those of you who missed the big announcement in our interview last night…. I (Sharis) am pregnant!!” the expectant star wrote about their “precious addition.” Sharis has since welcomed a daughter, Chloe Vienna Esther Alldredge.

However, the reality TV family shared a sad update about their relationship via Facebook in June 2021. “It’s hard to know how to even begin a post like this. I’ve wracked my brain for a long time trying to find the right words. And even though I don’t feel any closer to finding them, it’s time. Our marriage with Donna is over,” it read. “We have been physically separated since November and the decision to end the marriage finalized in April. There are reasons why we chose to end things, but we don’t feel the need to share the details at this time. And now I’m wracking my brain trying to find the right words to end this post, but nothing is coming.”

The McGees

Bernie and Paige McGee made their Seeking Sister Wife debut during season 2 in 2018. At the time, the couple were looking to add a second sister wife, Brandy, to their polygamous family. However, Paige struggled with jealousy issues throughout Bernie and Brandy’s courtship. Things got heated when the ladies came face-to-face on the tell-all, where Brandy admitted that she and Bernie had more intimate physical contact than Paige had originally believed.

Sadly, just two months after the tell-all aired, Bernie died on June 15, 2019, at the age of 41. He suffered a heat stroke and heart attack while on a motorcycle ride in Jackson, Mississippi.

“Bernie was born on July 15, 1977, to Johnny Ray McGee and Brenda Howard McGee,” the late star’s obituary read. “Bernie loved the outdoors especially camping, hiking and riding his bike. He never met a stranger and loved his family and friends very much. Bernie was full of life.”

The family did not return for another season.

The Winders

Colton Winder, his first wife, Tami, and second wife, Sophie, made their debut in 2019 on season 2 and returned for season 3. Tami and Colton already shared one child together, a daughter, but the Winder family expanded their brood on season 3 as Sophie was pregnant and expecting her first child with Colton.

While they were set to welcome another child, the polygamous family were also interested in welcoming a third wife to the group. At the time, they were also courting a potential third wife, Kimberley Greene. However, things didn’t work out between Colton, Sophie, Tami and Kimberley.

“In the end, Kimberley didn’t join our family,” they shared in a June 2021 announcement on Instagram. “The decision was mutual, and we have an incredible amount of respect for Kimberley. She is a beautiful and kind woman, and we appreciate a continued friendship with her.”

Unfortunately, fans will not be able to follow along on the Winders’ journey to finding another sister wife. They will not be returning for season 4 in 2022.

“As some of you have seen, we won’t be back for season 4 of Seeking Sister Wife. It makes sense to us why we weren’t picked back up, as we’ve seen the show is taking a different path. We wish the other families well, and we’re grateful to TLC for the opportunity we had to tell our story, and we’ll continue to tell our story on our social media, faithfully, and honestly,” they wrote in a joint statement via Instagram that March. “Thank you to all that have followed and supported us, and to those who continue to!”

The Merrifields

Dannielle and Garrick Merrifield made their debut on season 3 of the show. At the time, Dannielle and Garrick were looking to expand their polygamous family by adding a second wife. They were engaged to a woman named Roberta, who is from Brazil. In order for Roberta to be able to move to the United States to live with the Merrifields, she would need to apply for a K-1 visa, a.k.a. the “fiancé visa,” since it allows the fiancé or fiancée of an American citizen to enter the country under the condition that they marry within 90 days (which is the premise of TLC’s hit reality TV franchise 90 Day Fiancé). If the couple marries within the timeframe, the foreigner is then eligible to remain in the U.S. legally with a green card. If they do not wed, the foreigner must return to their home country.

However, there was one issues: Dannielle and Garrick were legally married, which meant he would not be able to marry Roberta. Dannielle made a huge sacrifice when she legally divorced Garrick so that he could apply for the K-1 visa and then legally marry Roberta once she arrives in America. However, Garrick and Dannielle remain spiritually married. (TLC fans will recall a similar situation on Sister Wives, when Meri Brown legally divorced Kody Brown so he could legally wed Robyn Brown in order to adopt her three children from a previous marriage.) 

As they awaited the visa process, Dannielle and Garrick started a new project of building a new home on two acres of land, In Touch confirmed in June 2021 amid his hopes to have a baby with Roberta on the show.

When the Merrifields returned on Seeking Sister Wife season 4, they were looking to add a third wife to their growing brood. They courted a woman named Lea, but that relationship was short-lived as Garrick and Dannielle both decided Leah would not make a good fit for their family.

However, Garrick and Dannielle’s decision to court another woman before Bert had arrived and settled in the United States would be what eventually lead to Bert’s split from the Merrifields. In a dramatic scene on the season 4 finale, Bert broke up with Garrick and Dannielle via text message and did not get on her flight to the United States.

In an update at the end of the episode, it was revealed that Dannielle and Garrick had not spoken to Bert since her breakup text but that they were already courting a new woman and had plans to meet her in person in Mexico later in 2022.

Dannielle and Garrick returned for season 5 and revealed they were courting a woman named Nathalia from Brazil. The trio met up in Cancun, Mexico, as they discussed the Brazil native potentially joining the family. However, it was only shortly into their trip that Nathalia discovered that Garrick had an active profile on a dating app.

Garrick insisted that he was “not continuing to look” for another wife and was not using the platform.

The Clarks

Jarod Clark and his wife, Vanessa, were already courting potential sister wife Kaleh when they joined the show in season 3.  Unfortunately, Jarod’s split from Kaleh played out on the show and he quickly started courting another sister wife, Emily. It seems their courtship with Emily did not pan out either.

As of 2022, it seems like Jarod and Vanessa are still together. However, according to their Instagram pages, they also have yet to add a second wife to their brood and they will not return for season 4.

The Joneses

Sidian and Tosha Jones joined the show on season 2. At the time, they had already been living a plural lifestyle as Tosha was a second wife for Sidian. However, after Sidian’s first wife left their family, Tosha assumed the first wife role and they both started their search to add a second wife to their brood. Unfortunately, that may prove to be harder than expected and all of their potential sister wife prospects did not work out. 

Despite the ups and downs of the polygamous dating scene, Tosha and Sidian are still going strong, according to their Instagram pages. When they returned for season 4 in June 2022, they shared their journey with international and long-distance dating as they courted their next potential sister wife, a woman named Arielle from the Philippines.

Arielle and Tosha were actually friends after meeting at work, and Tosha was the one who suggested that she and Sidian attempt to court Arielle as a sister wife. Since Arielle lived in the Philippines and travel was more difficult amid the coronavirus pandemic, they arranged for Sidian to visit Arielle for a one-on-one vacation.

Sidian and Arielle hit it off immediately and Sidian even got down on one knee and proposed before the end of their trip, Arielle said yes and Sidian planned to immediately begin the K-1 visa process, which would allow Arielle to legally enter the United States as the fiancé of a U.S. citizen. The only condition is that the couple needs to get married within 90 days of Arielle’s arrival or she’d have to return to her home country.

While the K-1 visa process can take anywhere from six months to a year, especially amid delays due to the coronavirus pandemic, it seems like Sidian is still going strong with both Tosha and Arielle. In August 2020, Tosha took to Instagram to share photos of the family trip she took with Sidian and their children to visit Arielle in the Philippines.

In the season 4 finale update, it was revealed that not only had Tosha, Sidian and their kids traveled to the Philippines to spend time with Arielle, but he had also started the K-1 visa process to bring Arielle to the United States.

The Epps Family

The Epps family were introduced on season 4 of Seeking Sister Wife. Like their fellow TLC stars, their family started with a monogamous relationship between Marcus Epps and Taryn Epps. Marcus and Taryn were college sweethearts but they hit a rough patch after 10 years of marriage. Taryn moved out of their home and was estranged from Marcus for one year. During their separation, Marcus met India Epps and started a relationship. Things got so serious that they even got engaged.

However, Taryn had a change of heart and hoped to reconcile her marriage with Marcus. She moved back into their marital home and hoped that India would move out, but Marcus did not want to lose either of them so he proposed the idea of polygamy. India and Taryn both agreed.

During season 4, fans watched as Marcus two women as a third sister wife — Bina and Janae. By the end of the season, it seemed like the Epps family decided not to continue their relationships with either woman.

However, in the season 4 finale update, it was revealed that not only Marcus had continued to date both Bina and Janae, but he had been dating other women as well. Despite his busy schedule juggling several women, Marcus and India plan to get married in November 2022.

The Davis Family

The Davis family made their TLC debut on season 4 of Seeking Sister Wife. Their family structure was different than most of their fellow polygamists, as Nick Davis was not legally married to either wife. Instead, first wife April Davis and second wife Jennifer Davis were legally married to each other and they both took Nick’s last name to solidify their family.

When they joined the show, the trio were looking to add a third wife to their polygamous family. Nick courted a woman named Danielle, and things went so well that April and Jennifer both urged him to propose to her so that she could join their clan. Of course, Danielle said yes and they made it official by organizing a commitment ceremony.

During the season 4 finale, an update was shared in an onscreen message. Jennifer gave birth to  a baby girl on June 29, 2022 and they moved into a larger home to accommodate their new baby and Danielle. The Davises also ordered a custom 12-foot bed for sleeping arrangements for Nick and all three of his wives.

However, there would soon be trouble in paradise as when the Davis family returned for season 5, Danielle abruptly moved out over a disagreement about dating.

“I know the plan has been to date, add more wives and kids but I just got married and we just had Vera,” Danielle told cameras during the season 5 debut, which aired on March 4, 2024. “I want to enjoy being a first time mom and a wife for a bit. I don’t see why we would need to rush into dating so soon.”

The Foleys

The Foleys were newcomers on season 4 of Seeking Sister Wife, but their story was similar to costars Tosha  and Sidian. Steve Foley was married to his first wife when he met Brenda and decided to live the plural lifestyle with her. However, Steve’s first wife could not adjust to their new polygamous dynamic, so they divorced and Brenda assumed the role of first wife.

When they joined the show, they were courting a woman named April. Unfortunately, April and Brenda hit a rough patch in their relationship and friendship as sister wives which made Brenda and Steve second-guess whether she was the right person to bring into their family as a second wife. However, they seemed to be able to work through their issues toward the end of the season.

As for whether April is still with the Foleys, it seems like they pumped the brakes on their relationship. In an update on the season 4 finale, a note on the screen revealed that they had not yet asked April to move into their new home with them. Additionally, Steve and Brenda had started dating a new potential sister wife – Nina
