Sammi Sweetheart Shares Sweet Message to Snooki and Daughter Giovanna After Drifting Apart
No hard feelings? Jersey Shore alum Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola sent a sweet message to Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi on a photo of the MTV personality, 32, and her daughter Giovanna on Monday, July 6.
“Aww haha! Like mother like daughter,” the fiancé to Christian Biscardi, 33, commented on the picture of the mother of three giving the camera a soft smile while her 5-year-old made a silly face. “Two types of girls,” Snooks captioned the funny photo, “#MyBestie,” she added.
This isn’t the first time the former costars were spotted sending love to one another on social media. On June 19, Snooki gushed over a photo of the bride-to-be and added a single flame emoji in the comments. Of course, fans were quick to notice the meatball’s outreach and gave her message hundreds of likes.
Sammi and Snooki’s latest interactions come after Nicole, Jenni “JWoww” Farley and Deena Cortese revealed they “drifted apart” from their old roommate in an exclusive interview with In Touch.
“[It] sucks,” the owner of the Snooki Shop said with a heavy heart. “We haven’t spoken to her in a while,” Deena, 33, chimed in, revealing Sammi came to her baby shower and met her son, CJ, before they “kind of lost touch.” Although they do still “invite her to things,” the girls seem to think Sam likes the distance.
In April, the former reality star hinted at her broken relationship with the Jersey Shore cast. “Your taste in people will change when you learn to love yourself,” read a screenshotted message shared to her Instagram Story.
Sammi and the cast’s bond became strained after she opted out of returning for the show’s spinoff series, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. In March 2018, she explained she wanted “to avoid potentially toxic situations” especially since her ex-boyfriend Ronnie Ortiz-Magro would be returning to the franchise.
Additionally, it appears Sammi put more distance between her and her old pals after they seemingly didn’t get an invite to her upcoming nuptials — which were sadly postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“I mean she came from a TV show that she clearly doesn’t want to be a part of anymore,” Jenni, 34, previously told In Touch. “So, there’s probably that give and take of having us part of certain … I don’t know. I wish we could talk to her about it.”
Despite the drama that has transpired, Sammi clearly still has a soft spot for her Jersey Shore family.
