‘RHONJ’ Star Joe Giudice’s Deportation Appeal Denied
After months and months of uncertainty, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice now knows his fate — his deportation appeal was officially denied, In Touch can confirm.
“We are extremely disappointed that the Board Of Immigration Appeals has denied Mr. Giudice’s appeal,” James J. Leonard Jr., the Giudice family attorney, said in a statement obtained by In Touch. “We have filed a stay with the Third Circuit Court Of Appeals and will continue to fight to keep Mr. Giudice in the United States, the only country he knows, and reunite him with his wife and four daughters.”
“The Board of Immigration Appeals dismissed the case on April 11, 2019,” the Executive Office for Immigration Review told Radar Online.
The 46-year-old had his legal team file a petition for the federal court to review the decision. But if the court refuses to review his plea, he will be legally forced to leave the United States, despite living here since he was a baby.
On October 10, 2018, Joe was ordered by an Immigration judge to be deported following his release from a 41-month prison sentence on fraud charges. He filed for an appeal in November and his wife, Teresa Giudice, confirmed the decision herself during an appearance on the web show The Morning Toast soon after.
When Joe was finally released from custody on March 14, 2019, he was transferred directly to ICE custody to await his appeal decision. According to Radar, he has been living at the Clinton County Correctional Facility in McElhattan, PA, a center notorious for violence and poor living conditions.
Things seem to be going from bad to worse for Joe. Back in March, Teresa got candid with Bravo boss Andy Cohen about breaking up with her husband if the deportation ruling becomes real. “Gia’s going to college next year; I haven’t spoken to Milania or Audriana about it, we haven’t gotten there yet,” she said of her and Joe’s daughters. “And Gabriella already voiced her opinion to me. She was like, ‘That would be so hard for me, mommy.’ She doesn’t speak the language. She’s like, ‘That would kill me even more.’”
Plus, the RHONJ OG was adamant about one thing: “I’m not doing a long-distance relationship. I’m not doing it.”
