Back together again? Regis Philbin is trying to get his old cohost Kathie Lee Gifford to work with him on a new show, Radar Online has reported. Watch the video above to get all of the details and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel.

The duo graced our televisions on Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee from 1988 to 2000, and then The Bronx native, 87, went on to work with Kelly Ripa for 10 more years. Now, Regis is ready to get back into the industry, especially since Kathie Lee, 65, revealed that she would be leaving the Today show’s fourth hour in April 2019. The TV personality apparently asked the mom-of-two to collaborate right after she made the announcement.

“Things haven’t been great for Regis since then, and he believes Kathie Lee is his ticket back into the spotlight,” a source told the outlet. “Regis is begging Kathie Lee to go out on the road with him and play theaters and casinos. He did well when he toured with his old pal Don Rickles. But Don died in 2017 and Regis feels like he needs a partner to make his act work.”

It seems like the author isn’t opposed to reuniting with her old pal, but she does have one big concern: his health issues. “Kathie Lee loves that Regis has this enthusiasm for working, but it isn’t 2000 any longer,” the source dished. “It’s a case of her fearing Regis’ mind is willing, but his body is weak.”

The dad-of-four has previously dealt with triple bypass surgery in 2007, a hip replacement in 2009 and a blood clot in his calf in 2010. However, that isn’t stopping him from persuading Kathie Lee to go back into show business with him.

“He’s itching to get back in the game, and he feels bantering onstage with Kathie Lee and doing some duets with her will bring the old magic back!” the source added.

We would be super excited to see Kathie Lee and Regis reunited, so crossing our fingers that it works out!
