Looks like it was haircut day at the Duggar house! Following in her sister-in-law Jessa Duggar‘s footsteps, mom-of-five Anna Duggar sat down with her three boys today and broke out the scissors to give her sons’ hair some trims. And for Mason, the former 19 Kids and Counting star’s youngest with husband Josh Duggar, it was his first time going under the shears. We gotta say, for a squirmy little kid and a relatively new hairdresser, it all turned out pretty well! And isn’t it always a net positive when nobody’s ears get clipped? Anna shared photos of the boys on her Instagram and gave fans a little insight into the milestone.

“Time for Mason‘s first haircut!✂️” she captioned the album on February 28. “I feel like the first haircut is one of those things where I realize my baby 👶🏼 has transitioned to a toddler 👦🏼 and the past 17 1/2 months have flown by! Thankfully with some good entertainment from @lifeatthepond, Mason sat still and I was able to quickly finish😅! I still have a lot to learn💈and I’m so glad my boys enjoy letting mommy practice on their hair!”

In the comments, she admitted that she wasn’t flying totally blind. “I watched a few tutorials on YouTube before I attempted to trim their hair,” she told one fan. Maybe next time she can get some advice from Jessa, the family expert. Anna’s other sister-in-law, Abbie Grace Burnett, is also learning how to handle her scissors. In the beginning of February, she sat down with husband John David Duggar to give him a trim of his own.

“Learning to cut John’s hair for the first time,” she shared on Instagram with a picture. “He’s a brave soul!” In the comments, Anna weighed in, “Aw! I’m sure it was his favorite haircut ever.” We’re sure it won’t be long until they’ll both have pro tips and tricks of their own to share.
