Tough times make tough people. Kim Kardashian opened up about her infamous 2016 Paris robbery in the new E! True Hollywood Story, “Who Is Kim Kardashian West?” The 38-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star admitted the terrible incident made her a better person during the in-depth interview, airing on Sunday, October 13.

“There’s those moments in life that really change you and shake you to your core. My robbery was definitely that moment for me,” she shared. “As crazy as this sounds, I wouldn’t give up that experience for the lessons I learned from it.” She added, “Material things used to be so important to me. I measured my success by my material things. But there is nothing material that is important to me.”

Kim recalled the night that she was bound and held at gunpoint. She gave the masked men all of her valuables and admitted she thought it was end. “It was the scariest thing I have ever been through in my entire like,” she said of the incident. “Just thinking that, you know, you’re about to die.” Adding, “You are just bracing yourself for the moment they shoot you and kill you.”

“That 10 minutes really changed my whole life,” Kim confessed. Since that horrible day, Kim has prioritized motherhood and added two more children to her brood — Chicago, 1, and Psalm, 4 months. Kim is also mom to North, 6, and Saint, 3. She says that life is good with four kids at home. “I feel like having four is so much more zen. I feel really calm and zen. I feel like they all love each other,” she told Entertainment Tonight back in September. “I want to make sure each kid gets so much of my attention,” she added.

To bond with her kids, Kim and husband, Kanye West, recently purchased a home in Wyoming for when they want to escape from the limelight for some intimate family time. After her Paris robbery, Kim takes safety very seriously even when they are out west. An insider recently told In Touch exclusively that when she travels to her new home, “there is a huge security presence along with them.” We are so happy Kim is safe and has a new outlook on life.
