Uh, Kelly Clarkson Has No Idea Who Duchess Meghan Is in This Hilarious Clip From ‘The Ellen Show’
Raise your hand if you know who Duchess Meghan (née Markle) is? That’s just about everyone — except for Kelly Clarkson. The 37-year-old was stumped when asked to identify the duchess while was playing a game on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, on Monday, September 16. Her response was downright hilarious.
“Umm … I know this one! She’s a princess,” exclaimed a confused Kelly when presented with a picture of the former actress. After Ellen DeGeneres graciously gave The Voice coach the answer, she screamed “Meghan Markle!” with relief.
“She was on Suits, actually I love Suits. I don’t know why, but she doesn’t look like a ‘Meghan’ to me,” she explained. She added that if Meg ever came onto her new show, she would ask her, “What are the stresses of being a princess?”
We aren’t so sure the royals will be stopping by, but Kelly seems to be very confident about her new talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, which debuted on Monday, September 9. “I’m just going to do me and it will work or it won’t,” she told Ellen, 61, about her approach to daytime TV. The “Stronger” singer explained that she decided to have a talk show to bring more positivity into the world. “One of my big things is to bring people together,” she said. Adding she was “sold” on all the good they would be able to do and bring “inclusion” to her show, similar to what Ellen has become known for. Kelly’s new show airs right before Ellen’s hit show.
So far, Kelly has a pretty star-studded guest list. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson appeared on her premiere episode in place of Kevin Hart after he was severely injured in a car accident. The 47-year-old actually left his honeymoon early to fill Kevin’s shoes and help him out during his time of need.
When Kelly asked about Kevin, the actor jokingly replied, “Things happen in life and thankfully he was strapped in nicely to his car seat.” The former wrestler poked fun at his friend’s signature stature adding that he “spoke to his pediatrician.” Looks like Kelly knows how to pull some good laughs out of her guests and even some juicy gossip.
