Speaking up. Kate Gosselin called her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, a “violent and abusive person” following allegations of physical abuse.

“I’m done hiding,” the former Kate Plus 8 star, 45, told People.

A rep for Jon refuted the claims, however, telling In Touch — “Jon Gosselin is a loving father who has never abused his son. He has done nothing but parent his children and attempt to stay out of the public eye for years. The recent allegations were deemed unfounded by the police department and CYS within 24 hours. Kate’s malicious statements are libelous and if her false accusations of abuse continue, legal action will be taken.”

Pennsylvania’s Berks County Child & Youth Services (CYS) had notified Kate of an investigation into an alleged violent incident involving son Collin Gosselin and his father earlier this month.

“You do not punch and kick your children. You do not kick a child. I don’t want to hear any excuses from anyone, not from his father, not from local law enforcement, not from court personnel whose job is supposedly to ensure the best interests of my children,” she told the outlet last week. “There is a child abuse law, PA 23, section 8i states that doing any of the following, regardless of whether it causes injury, is child abuse, and first on that list is kicking. Period.” She added she doesn’t “want” her children “around [Jon]” anymore. “Enough is enough.”

Collin, 16, reportedly said his dad “beat” him in a now-deleted Instagram post. “My dad is a liar,” the post allegedly read. “Yesterday he beat me up and thought nothing of it, he punched me in the face and gave me a swollen nose and I started bleeding. He then continued to kick me in the ribs after I was on the floor. He is a liar.” The teen allegedly called the police, who responded on the scene.

Jon, however, has denied the claims. “Jon has never abused Collin,” a rep for the former Jon and Kate Plus 8 star, 43, told In Touch. “No charges have been filed against him and there’s no ongoing Children & Youth Services investigation. Collin has endured severe trauma. Jon is a loving father who has worked hard to ensure that his son gets the support and help he needs.”

Prior to the alleged incident, things between the father and son were “going pretty well,” a source told In Touch exclusively. “He was happy with Jon’s girlfriend Colleen [Conrad] and seemed well-adjusted to living life with his dad, sister Hannah and Colleen’s kids,” the source explained.

Days leading up to the shocking allegations, Collin shared a selfie on social media noting that he “got a new cut” and was “doing better than ever” since leaving boarding school. “Life is too great to not enjoy! #livelikeitsyourlastday.”

Jon and Kate rose to fame in 2007 thanks to their hit TLC show. They share twins Cara and Madelyn, 19, and sextuplets Alexis, Aaden, Joel, Leah, Hannah and Collin.
