Serious Church Dad Kanye West Wants His Kids to ‘Continue His Spiritual Legacy’
This is one special baby, y’all. Kanye West has big plans for his new son, Psalm — and they involve eventually taking over the spiritual empire the rapper has created over the last few months.
“It was Kanye who insisted on this name, for its biblical connotations and to show the world they’re a united family as they forge a new path and create their new religion,” the insider revealed. “Kanye wants his kids to continue his spiritual legacy long after he’s gone, and it’s his number one focus these days by miles.”
To get the newborn prepped and ready for his future as a prophet in the ~Church of Kanye~, the 41-year-old dad is turning bedtime into bible time. “He’s been reading sermons and special prayers to the baby each night, in lieu of regular baby stories,” the source explained. Gotta start ’em while they’re young!
Plus, there are some serious plans for the baby’s first big religious milestone. “There are already plans for the christening, which Kanye will perform himself,” the insider gushed. “And he wants to turn it into an all-singing and dancing celebration of life.” We’d expect nothing less than a Coachella-level Sunday Service out of Ye.
In fact, we’ve heard the Yeezus rapper is interesting in taking his faith up a notch or two by getting ordained. “Kanye is convinced that his calling in life is now gospel and spreading the word of God,” a KUWTK insider told Radar Online. “He has always been a man of faith, but he has taken it to a whole new level now.”
Kanye and his wife, Kim Kardashian, welcomed their fourth child via surrogate on May 9, and announced his arrival into the world the next day on Twitter. “He’s here and he’s perfect,” the 38-year-old mama wrote to celebrate her son. The couple share three other children — North, 5, Saint, 3, and Chicago, 14 months — who seem to be adjusting pretty well to the new baby bro.
