Ever since Kim Kardashian revealed her fourth child’s name is Psalm West, people are wondering what religion the mom-of-four celebrates. Even though the Kardashians are known for their scandalous outfits and crazy moments on reality television, they are actually pretty religious.

The 38-year-old’s dad, Robert Kardashian, was a Christian Armenian. All of the Kardashian kids attended either a Presbyterian or Catholic school growing up. “We went to church every Sunday, religiously,” Kim’s sister Khloé Kardashian wrote in a Lenny letter in 2016. “When we started getting older, my dad stopped going to church, but he still read the Bible every single day. Sundays then became about his bringing church and religion into our home. He would play gospel music — it had so much soul, and he loved that.”

Kim’s husband, Kanye West, previously revealed via Twitter that his favorite app is his Bible app. Now, the “Gold Digger” rapper holds “Sunday Service” every week in Calabasas, California, where the Grammy winner combines his spirituality and music so people can worship God in an accepting environment.

“There’s no praying, there’s no sermon, no word, just music and just a feeling — and it’s Christian,” Kim explained to Jimmy Kimmel on his show in April. “It’s more of a healing experience. It’s so emotional. A musical experience that is pretty moving. There’s a choir, there’s gospel music.”

Khloé, 34, added, “We have so many friends who maybe feel too judgmental when they go to church or something,” she said during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “When they come here, they feel free and safe, is what everyone says.”

The dictionary definition of Psalm is “a sacred song or poem used in worship.” There is also the book of Psalms in the Old Testament of the Bible and is filled with poems that are meant to be sung. Well, since the Kardashian-West family loves to sing and are devoted to their faith, the moniker fits perfectly.
