Divorce is never easy on any family, but Jenni Farley, a.k.a. JWoww, was especially worried about how hers would affect her kids. After she split from ex Roger Matthews, she wanted to keep things civil — and, more importantly, private. After he decided to take his grievances public, though, she’s finally speaking out in a new episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. Though JWoww, 33, initially attempted to keep her split under wraps, her ex, Roger, 44, took to Instagram to confirm the news of their divorce the same day that it broke.

Speaking Out

In an Instagram video posted September 27, he addressed fans directly, saying, “My wife filed for divorce … It’s true, I’m just gonna keep it simple.” Though he revealed there was “no cheating or any dumb s–t,” he did hint at what happened.

“I don’t blame her,” he said in the video. “She just grew tired of the repetitive pattern that we fell into. … Again, I’m not gonna get into detail, but it was a repetitive pattern and not a good one.”

Making Promises

He wasn’t ready to give up on their relationship, though. “I’m gonna win my wife back, I’m gonna win her affection back, I’m gonna win her love back,” he promised his followers. “I have no intention of being a single dad. We’re in counseling, so there’s hope. It ain’t over ’til the fat lady sings.”

Changing Tunes

By December 2018, he was telling a different story. In another set of videos, he claimed that his ex had made all kinds of nasty allegations against him. He told his followers JWoww had called him a “piece of s–t dad” to his kids and kicked him out.

“She gets so emotional and irrational in her anger this is the level she brings it too. Saddest day of my life watching her tell my daughter ‘she is sorry she had children with your daddy,'” he said. “The truth will come out.”

Though JWoww herself decided not to wade into the fray, Snooki took to social media to try and defend her friend. “She always tries to keep her situations off social media for the sake of the kids, but her voice needs to be heard too,” she said.

“She has tried everything in her power to keep things civil FOR THE KIDS and she’s a damn good mother,” Snooki said. “There is more to the story that’s being told. Stop attacking her.”

Family Feuds

Not all of the Jersey Shore stars are on JWoww’s side, though. Ronnie Ortiz-Magro threw some serious shade at his costar for not opening up on the show. “To be with somebody that is so cold and shows no emotion and all you do is give and give and give, it hurts,” he said during a July 2019 episode.

Now, the Jersey Shore star is finally telling her own side of the story. In a sneak peek from the Thursday, August 22, episode, she can be seen explaining to Snooki and the cameras just what went down.

“I thought silence was greater good,” she explains in the clip. “As bad as [my] relationship [with Roger] got, I stayed f–king quiet because that’s what you’re supposed to do. … So to me, like, the ultimate betrayal is the fact that he went public.”

“My divorce, um, it was a sore subject,” she tells the cameras. “I filed before [we went to] the dude ranch, but I didn’t want to talk about it publicly out of respect for my children, so when those videos came out, I feel like it was a really, really low blow [by] Roger.”

“All I said was I want a cooling off period. I don’t want him in my face. Then he left. People think I had him arrested. … [That’s] not even the case,” she clarifies. “You wouldn’t have your phone in the back of a cop car. … They’re being nice and giving him a ride.”

Of course, she also recognizes how messy the situation is. “The irony in all of this is I’d love to make fun of Ron and Jen [Harley],” she admits. “Car chases, getting run over, you know, drama, and now I’m on that level.”

“I just want this to calm down because I’m in the public eye and I don’t want this to get out of control,” she continues. “At the end of the day, [he’s] still the father of my kids. [I] gotta keep it together.”

“Everything that I do in this life, today, the kids come first,” JWoww says. “And for him to literally just piss on all of that and call me, like, a piece of s–t mom, that sucks. … The last thing I want is this divorce to drag out. Thankfully, we have a prenup because this thing can’t end soon enough.”
