Joy-Anna Duggar Shares an Update on Her Home Renovations: ‘Hard at Work Today!’
It’s coming along! After Joy-Anna Duggar revealed to her fans she and husband Austin Forsyth officially bought their first home, she’s ready to share the family’s first update on how the renovations are coming along. On Monday, November 18, she took fans on a walk-through of the house as the rest of the Duggars got to work. Showing off footage of various Counting On stars helping to lay floors and cut wood, she helped fans imagine what the home just might look like one day.
“[The] first of our hardwood floor is down,” Joy, 22, shared in the clip. “Super excited. So we’re just doing the line down the middle to make sure it’s straight, and then [we can] do everything else off of it. … Coming together! The boys are cleaning the windows. Looking good.” Captioning the post, she added, “Hard at work today! [We’re] working on cleaning the windows, painting the walls and laying the wood floor! We’re almost there! … So thankful for all this help!”
The new homeowner also shared a photo of two paint chips she’d considered for the walls. One, Alabaster, was an almost-white color while the other, Pediment, was a medium gray. “I changed my mind last minute and decided to go with Pediment for our walls… It’s a little darker than I was wanting, but I think I like it!” she told fans. “The trim color is Alabaster.”
The update came just two days after Joy and Austin, 25, first broke the news about their big purchase. “Sooo …WE BOUGHT A HOUSE and YES! We plan to settle down and live in this one for a while!” they shared on November 16. “After a year and a half of camper living, we’re so ready!!! … This house has three beds and three baths, and it’s a very open floor plan! We are just fixing up the basics … flooring, trim, new countertops [and] fresh paint! I think I want to go for the Scandinavian/boho/minimalist style, all brought together!”
A three-bedroom will be perfect for when the parents of one decide they’re ready to add a couple more kids to their clan. Though they suffered a tragic miscarriage in July, they’ve been open about their future family planning. “We want to be wise and give my body time to heal,” Joy told Us Weekly in November. “But we are excited for the children that God’s going to give us and can’t wait. … I would be fine with a few more if that’s what God wants us to have.”
