We always love to discover a good celebrity lookalike for some of our favorite reality stars — but we never thought we’d find one for John David Duggar! Someone on reddit made the find, though, and once we saw a side-by-side, it was actually pretty incredible. Because it turns out that the Duggar twin looks almost exactly like a character named Roy DeSoto in a ’70s show called Emergency! Want to see what we mean? Watch the video above and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel.
There are some scary similarities between Roy and John David — and we’re not just talking about their looks. For example, Roy was a firefighter and paramedic in the show. In real life, John David works in those positions, too. “He’s also a jack of all trades and works as a firefighter, first responder, and police volunteer in his hometown of Tontitown, Arkansas,” reads the reality star’s TLC bio. They both also like to fish and camp and are more quiet and reserved as compared to some of their louder and more impulsive peers. And, okay, yeah, they could be basically be twins. Just look at this promo photo for the show! The hairline is uncanny.
“I finally, finally, FINALLY figured out who John David reminds me of!!!” wrote the user who discovered their similarities. Everyone in the comments on the reddit thread agreed. “Mind. Blown,” responded one fan. Another wrote, “Can’t unsee it now, I thought someone photoshopped him in.”
Today, Kevin Tighe, the actor who played Roy, is 74. His hair’s gone all white, but the resemblance is still pretty uncanny. And we can’t help but wonder one thing. Do you think John’s fiancée Abbie Grace Burnett has seen the comparisons? Looking at Kevin today is like getting a glimpse into her own future with her soon-to-be Duggar husband. We just hope she likes what she sees, beucase once they tie the knot, they’re stuck with each other until death does them part.
