Fans Worry Jill Duggar Is Hurting Baby Samuel After Watching a Video of Her Brushing His Teeth
Ouch! The Internet slammed Jill Duggar after watching a video of the Counting On star brush her eight-month-old son, Samuel Dillard's, teeth for the very first time. While she might be trying to teach him about personal hygiene at a young age, fans noticed that the 26-year-old doesn't exactly have a gentle touch when it comes to brushing. Watch the video above and check out the way Jill took a toothbrush to Sam's tiny teeth!
Jill's husband, Derrick Dillard, shared the video to his own page with the caption, "Bedtime at the Dillard household has been fun with lots of 'firsts' #firsttoothbrushforsam #neweconomicsbooksfrommima." And while the video received tons of backlash from fans, it might be worth noting that Sam didn't seem too uncomfortable in the footage.
This certainly isn't the first time Jill and Derrick have been called out for their children's questionable bedtime routine. Most recently, they were dragged for reading Israel, 2, and Sam a copy of The Tuttle Twins and Food Truck Fiasco — both were deemed "anti-socialist" by critics.
When fans got wind of the literature Jill and Derrick decided was appropriate for their kiddos, they blasted them on social media. "The book Atlas basically promotes the idea that being poor is a consequence of laziness and success is solely based on meritocracy," one wrote. Another said, "These books are about 'the evils of socialism' and 'second amendment rights'. These are not for small kids. Heck at least read a good kids' bible story to the kids if you can't handle mainstream kids books."
In addition to their controversial bedtime routine, Jill and Derrick have been accused of bad parenting over a number of things in the past several months including leaving Sam on the floor during dinner. And not to mention the uproar they caused after they let Sam use a tortilla has a hat.
