Over the years, Jill Duggar's parenting practices have been questioned — and quite frankly, ripped apart — by the general public, and now the former Counting On star is giving mommy-shamers even more ammo. Last week, the 27-year-old shared a clip of her son's homeschooling curriculum and revealed that she gives Israel a bag of candy after he completes his work. Back in May, Derick Dillard's wife praised her mom, Michelle, for using the controversial program. "My momma taught me the importance of instilling scripture into the hearts and minds of your young children," she wrote on her blog at the time. "I recently started teaching Israel some Bible verses and I was amazed at how quickly he picked up on them! Even when I was looking at homeschooling curriculum (yes, Israel just turned three but I'm just excited!)."

The famous TLC family uses Advanced Training Institute, also known as ATI, to educate their youngsters. The program describes itself as a "Biblically-based home education program for families who desire to raise up sons and daughters who are 'mighty in Spirit' and able to impact the world for Jesus Christ."

But the Duggars' homeschooling curriculum isn't widely accepted by the public. Earlier this year, fans grew concerned that Josie may be behind her classmates after holding up an assignment that appeared to be below her grade level. One reddit user commented at the time, "Oh no, looking at this photo and the page in that book feels awkward because I teach kids Josie's age ??." Another added, "This is the level of work I did with delayed K and 1st grade kids. Obviously, we used a whole scheme of tools and used research-based practice. I actually did more advanced work with kids with considerable delays at age 6. This would be something a more severely disabled student would be working on at that age."

The Duggars' youngest daughter was born at only 25 weeks, three and a half months premature. She weighed just one pound at birth. "Oh, the terror that went through my heart when they said this baby has to be delivered in 30 minutes. I thought, 'This baby is too small to live,'" Michelle said back in 2010. "I was terrified. I cried out to God to have mercy on my baby and me. This was too soon for this baby."

Today, however, she seems to be thriving and even showcasing her talent to fans: Singing! The reality star recently belted out part of "The Star-Spangled Banner" — and she nailed it. We wonder if she gets rewarded with candy for doing her homework, too… ~Insert thinking face emoji here.~
