ReportJennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox Arrive Safely in Cabo After Emergency Plane Landing
After their plane made an emergency landing en route to Cabo, Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox have reportedly arrived safely in Mexico, according to Radar Online. The Friends co-stars were traveling with a group of 10 other ladies for a surprise birthday trip to celebrate Aniston’s 50th birthday — but they almost didn’t make it when the plane they were on experienced a major issue during takeoff.
Aniston and Cox, 54, boarded Aniston’s private plane on Friday, February 15, along with gal pals Amanda Anka (the wife of actor Jason Bateman), and writer Molly Kimmel, (the wife of late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel) and eight other women. But the ladies didn’t get very far, as Aniston’s plane circled in the air for three hours before it was forced to make an emergency landing.
The plane reportedly lost a rear tire during takeoff from Los Angeles International Airport at 11 a.m., according to Fox News. The plane had already entered Mexican airspace but the crew didn’t think it would be safe to land, so the plane turned around and continued to fly in circles in order to burn off fuel before it was considered safe to land. The aircraft safely landed at around 2 p.m. at Ontario International Airport in Ontario, California.
Shortly after the ladies landed in Ontario, they boarded another flight and they made it to Cabo safely in order to celebrate Aniston’s birthday. This girls’ trip marks Aniston’s second big birthday bash this month — on February 9, Aniston hosted a huge party in West Hollywood that was attended by all of Aniston’s A-list friends and her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, was also in attendance.
It was the first time that Aniston and Pitt, 55, had publicly reconnected after his nasty 2016 split from Angelina Jolie — the woman who was to blame for Pitt and Aniston’s divorce — but insiders told Us Weekly that Aniston didn’t think too much of the fact that her newly single ex-husband attended her birthday party.
“Guests were surprised to see him there and were making a big deal of it,” the source revealed. “But it didn’t seem like that big of a deal to Jen. She was happy he was there, but that was it.”
