The Met Gala is always an exciting night, and it’s a mystery as to who shows up. So, will pop princess Demi Lovato be making an appearance this year?

Unfortunately, since the 26-year-old has had a rough year, she is taking some much-needed time out of the spotlight. After the “Sorry Not Sorry” crooner was hospitalized after an alleged near-fatal drug overdose in July 2018, she acknowledged that she is thankful to be alive. “I’m so blessed I get to take this time to be with family, relax, work on my mind, body and soul and come back when I’m ready,” she wrote in December 2018. “I have my fans to thank for that. I’m so grateful, truly. I love you guys so f–king much, thank you.”

The brunette beauty was six months sober before she relapsed. Since then, the Disney alum opened up about her ongoing journey to sobriety on March 15. “Today I would’ve had seven years sober. I don’t regret going out because I needed to make those mistakes, but I must never forget that’s what they were: mistakes,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.

The Texas native went on to thank Alcoholic Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous for never giving up on her. “Grateful that AA/NA never shuts the door on you no matter how many times you have to start your time over,” she said. “I didn’t lose six years; I’ll always have that experience, but now I just get to add to that time with a new journey and time count.”

Additionally, Demi broke up with her boyfriend of four months, Henri Levy, in March. “Demi needed to focus on her recovery and Henri — who she still calls a friend and a huge part of her support group — was a huge distraction for her,” an insider previously told In Touch. “She knows what she has to do and while Henri was a great diversion from her problems, dating isn’t in the cards right now.”

Instead, Demi has been focusing on her health and getting back into a normal routine, and it seems like the Grammy nominee is doing great. We hope she makes a red carpet debut sooner than later!
