Even though Demi Lovato and Henri Levy are no longer together, it seems like it’s for the best as the pop star needs to take some time for herself, a source revealed to In Touch exclusively.

“Demi needed to focus on her recovery and Henri — who she still calls a friend and a huge part of her support group — was a huge distraction for her,” the insider revealed. “She knows what she has to do and while Henri was a great diversion from her problems, dating isn’t in the cards right now.”

After rumors swirled that the two were a potential item, the fashion designer confirmed their relationship via Instagram in December 2018, where the “Sorry Not Sorry” crooner, 26, kissed her beau on a plane. The former duo dated for four months before they split on Wednesday, March 6.

“Demi did the right thing,” the source continued. “She broke it off with her boyfriend Henri. She knew better than anyone that her main priority is her sobriety and dating in the first year of sobriety is a big no-no in AA.”

It seemed like the two had a lot in common since the brunette beauty reportedly met Henri a few years ago at a rehab facility and he just celebrated six months of sobriety. However, don’t be shocked if the Grammy nominee finds her way back to her ex down the line.

“Who knows what the future holds for her and Henri,” the insider confessed. “But right now Demi is single and concentrating on getting healthier — mentally, spiritually and physically.”

After the Disney alum was hospitalized after an alleged near-fatal drug overdose, she has been trying to get back into a normal routine. Despite her recent challenges, Demi couldn’t help but give a shout-out to her supportive fans.
