Demi Lovato Comments on Her ‘Sobriety’ After Celeb Makeup Artist Jill Powell Says She’s ‘Glowing’
What’s wrong with being confident? On Wednesday, March 6, Demi Lovato shared a new selfie of herself on Instagram that showed off her makeup and her flower finger tattoo. After Jill Powell — Demi’s makeup artist — commented on the snap, the pop star shared an uplifting message about her recovery process.
“That glow though!!!” Jill wrote with a heart emoji. The brunette beauty, 26, immediately replied, “@jillpowellglam it’s called sobriety by Demi.”
It’s been almost seven months since the Disney alum was hospitalized after an alleged near-fatal drug overdose, and it looks like she is doing better than ever. Some of her fans couldn’t help but comment on her journey.
One said, “You’re seriously an amazing inspiration. I deal with my own mental health issues and seeing you come back fighting every time is incredible,” while another echoed, “Hi Demi!!! You’re beautiful. Keep pushing. You got this. @ddlovato.” A third chimed in, writing, “Hey!!! Keep doing you, Demi!!!!! Serenity looks good on you!”
It’s refreshing to see the New Mexico native smile again, especially since she just broke up with her boyfriend of four months, Henri Levy.
“Demi needed to focus on her recovery and Henri — who she still calls a friend and a huge part of her support group — was a huge distraction for her,” a source told In Touch exclusively. “She knows what she has to do and while Henri was a great diversion from her problems, dating isn’t in the cards right now.”
The “Sorry Not Sorry” crooner took to social media to reveal how she’s moving on from her ex. “Cause sometimes you gotta send yourself flowers … #selflove,” she captioned the photo of pink and white roses. “You’re beautiful, you’re loved, and you’re worthy of a happy and healthy life,” the note she wrote to herself read.
“Right now, Demi is single and concentrating on getting healthier — mentally, spiritually and physically,” the insider continued.
